Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs) at WVHUG provide direct and indirect patient care, following standards set by the American Nurses Association; gerontological nursing practice; federal, state and Veterans Administration regulations; and the mission, philosophy, policies and procedures of this agency.
Job duties include providing care per a written care plan to help meet the needs of WVHUG members, including care to help maintain the demented member at the highest functional level.
CNAs work as an integral part of the health care team, under the direction of licensed nursing staff, with limited supervision by a Nursing Supervisor.

Salary Information
Starting wage is $25.06 - $28.16 per hour based on full years of state service.
Additional compensation for nights, weekends, holidays, and overtime.
Positions that are at least 60% time are eligible for an attractive benefits package.
Sign-on bonus of $2,000 for eligible new hires.
This position is in pay schedule-range 06-11.
For current State employees, pay on appointment will be set in accordance with the Wisconsin Compensation Plan and Wisconsin Administrative Code.
This position is not represented by a bargaining unit.
Job Details
Core Shifts Available:
AM 1st shift - 6:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
PM 2nd shift - 2:30 p.m. to 11:00 p.m.
NOC 3rd shift - 10:30 p.m. to 7:00 a.m.
Full-time positions require the availability to work varying hours and/or overtime shifts as assigned.
Job duties require the ability to assist in patient mobility efforts, stand and/or walk up to 75% of eight-hour day to provide assessments, kneel, stoop, make visual observations, lift, push, pull, carry, reach, maintain hygiene, use special safety equipment, and wear protective clothing.
Employment in this position is contingent upon passing a pre-employment tuberculosis (TB) skin test.
Due to the nature of the positions, WDVA will conduct a criminal background check prior to any offer of employment.
A 12-month probationary period may be required.

Qualifications
These jobs require certification or eligibility for certification as a Wisconsin Nurse Aide and eligibility to work in a federally-certified nursing home as a CNA.
