POSITION SUMMARY:
Responsible for teaching adult students in the Certified Production Technician (CPT) certification program.
Provide instruction for individuals who can demonstrate mastery of the foundational, core competencies in production technician certificate assessments: Safety; Quality Practices & Measurement; Manufacturing Processes & Production; Maintenance Awareness.
Prepares students for workplace readiness and encourages industry partner participation.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
•Teach Certified Production Technician classes in accordance with Manufacturing Skill Standards Council (MSSC) industry-defined skill standards.
•Enable students to demonstrate mastery through the successful completion of production technician certificate assessments in Safety; Quality Practices & Measurement; Manufacturing Processes & Production; Maintenance Awareness.
•Provide instructional training services for the Adult Diploma Program.
•Monitor and document student performance.
•Incorporate relevant technology into classroom presentations.
•Maintain safe work practices, tools, and equipment, keeping environment clean and organized.
•Develop a program advisory committee and conduct its annual meeting.
•Follow all compliance requirements.
•Participate in curriculum revision, program management, and research related activities.
•Monitor student achievement and progress toward instructional goals and objectives of the program and district and initiate corrective action as necessary.
•Prepare or oversee completion of required documentation and reports.
•Develop and maintain appropriate communication and relationships with appropriate workplaces.
•Communicate effectively with students, community members and school personnel.
•Demonstrate commitment to improving professional competence.
•Develop students' workplace skills including interpersonal skills and communication skills.
•Provide a model for students of how to interact/communicate with customers and co-workers which promote effective and positive relationships.
•Plan, implement, and participate in course awareness/marketing activities.
•Helps students develop ethical principles, critical-thinking, problem solving, and creativity skills.
•Interact with local CPT employers to facilitate the employment of students, develop student work plans that relate to the curriculum and meet employer needs.
•Keeps current with content-area innovations.
•Perform other duties as required.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
•Ohio Department of Education - Adult Education Permit.
•Complete CPT 4.0 Instructor Training & CPT+ Skill Boss Instructor Training.
•5 years of teaching experience (adult education/workplace mentoring).
•5 years of manufacturing production processes and quality control.
•Good communication and networking skills (relationships with industry companies/professionals).
•Proficient in Microsoft tools (PowerPoint, Word, Excel and Publisher).
•Proficient in/or the willingness to learn Canvas or other learning management systems.
•Proven background in classroom management principles relating to adult learners.
•Ability to acquire and apply concepts, principles and methodologies of learning theory and teaching; communicate effectively, both orally, in writing and through electronic means, using appropriate language and grammar skills; develop instructional goals; design lessons, deliver instruction, and assess students' learning; develop work plans for students and monitor and evaluate them; provide work direction to others; and to serve as an effective liaison and effectively collaborate with others.
•Demonstrated skills in decision-making, problem analysis, conflict resolution, interpersonal relationships and planning.
•Demonstrated ability to work independently.
•Valid Ohio Driver's License and reliable transportation to visit industry sites.
•Record free of criminal violations that would prohibit public school employment.
•Complies with drug-free workplace rules and board policies.
•Ability to work as part of a team.
•Expertise and work experience in the CPT instructional area.
