Position Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) to provide comprehensive anesthesia services and ensure 24/7 coverage for the Anesthesia service at the Blackfeet Service Unit.
As a CRNA, you will play a crucial role in delivering safe, effective, and high-quality anesthesia care to our patients.
Your responsibilities will encompass a wide range of tasks including pre-anesthetic evaluations, preoperative and intra-operative care, postoperative care, and other duties relevant to the Indian Health Service (IHS) and Service Unit facility.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct thorough pre-anesthetic evaluations to assess patients' medical history, current health status, and anesthesia risk factors.
Collaborate with the medical team to develop and implement appropriate anesthesia care plans tailored to each patient's needs.
Administer general anesthesia and monitored anesthesia care in accordance with established protocols and safety standards.
Monitor patients' vital signs, anesthesia levels, and overall well-being throughout surgical procedures.
Provide vigilant postoperative care, addressing pain management, recovery, and any potential complications.
Participate in patient education, explaining anesthesia procedures, risks, and aftercare instructions.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records, documenting all procedures, medications, and patient responses.
Stay informed about the latest anesthesia techniques, guidelines, and advancements to ensure optimal patient care.
Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless coordination of patient care and continuity of services.
Qualifications:
Valid CRNA certification and current state licensure.
Graduate from an accredited nurse anesthesia program.
Demonstrated experience in administering general anesthesia and monitored anesthesia care.
Strong understanding of anesthesia principles, practices, and patient safety protocols.
Exceptional communication skills to effectively interact with patients, medical staff, and support teams.
Ability to remain composed under pressure and make swift, informed decisions during critical situations.
Dedication to upholding the highest standards of patient care, safety, and confidentiality.
Familiarity with the Indian Health Service (IHS) policies and procedures is advantageous.
Flexibility to work in a 24/7 rotational schedule to provide continuous coverage.
