Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) - Pool/PRNNational Jewish Health - Main CampusAnesthesiologyNational Jewish Health, located in Denver, Colorado in the beautiful Rocky Mountains, is seeking CRNAs to join our medical staff (Full time and PRN). Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetists support our Minimally Invasive Diagnostic Center (MIDC). The MIDC provides a variety of diagnostic and therapeutic bronchoscopy procedures, pulmonary procedures along with interventional bronchoscopies with a gastroenterology focus. Responsibilities include administering anesthesia and monitoring patients in our outpatient clinical care setting. CRNAs work independently with onsite physician anesthesiologist for backup support.

Responsible for administering anesthesia and monitoring patient's vital signs. Oversees patient recovery from anesthesia through minimally invasive procedures. Ensures smooth recovery after procedures.
Performs and documents a pre-anesthetic assessment and evaluation of the patient by obtaining an appropriate health history.Administers anesthesia and monitors patient during outpatient procedures.Implements, monitors and adjusts patient's physiologic condition as appropriate for type of anesthesia and specific patient's needs.Transfers the responsibility for care of the patient to other qualified providers post-operatively to assure continuity of care and patient safety.Supports Minimally Invasive Diagnostic Center procedures.Initiates the anesthetic technique which may include: regional, local and sedation.Selects, obtains and administers the anesthetic, adjuvant and accessory drugs and fluids necessary to manage the anesthetic.Selects, applies and inserts appropriate non-invasive and invasive monitoring modalities.Manages a patient's airway and pulmonary status.Implements acute and chronic pain management modalities.Responds to emergency situations by providing airway management, administration of emergency fluids and drugs, and using basic or advanced cardiac life support techniques.Acts as a resource to pre-anesthesia and post-anesthesia nurses.Partners with supervising anesthesiologist to formulate appropriate care plans for patients undergoing procedures.Brings to the attention of supervising anesthesiologist any concerns regarding general and acute health of patients and how it may affect clinical outcomes of anesthetics and procedures.Other Duties Accepts additional responsibilities which are within the expertise of the individual CRNA and appropriate to the practice setting.Accountability: Accepts full responsibility for self and contribution as a team member; displays honesty and truthfulness; confronts problems quickly; displays a strong commitment to organizational success and inspires others to commit to goals; demonstrates a commitment to National Jewish Health.Ethics: Practices ethically; integrates the ANA Code of Ethics for Nurses with Interpretive Statements to guide practice; demonstrates compassion and respect for the inherent dignity, worth and unique attributes of all people; advocates for healthcare consumer's rights to informed decision-making and self-determination; maintains therapeutic relationships and professional boundaries; safeguards privacy and confidentiality of healthcare consumers, and their data and information.Informing and Communicating: Clearly conveying information and ideas through a variety of media to individuals or groups in a manner that engages the audience and helps them understand and retain the message.Collaboration/Teamwork: Cooperates with others to accomplish common goals; works with employees and across his/her department to achieve shared goals; treats others with dignity and respect and maintains a friendly demeanor; values the contributions of others.Professional Development: Actively identifies in new area with preceptor learning opportunities and unit specific competencies; regularly creating and taking advantage of learning opportunities; using newly gained knowledge and skill to enhance contribution to the organization.Evidence-based Practice and Research: Integrates evidence and research findings into practice; articulates the values of research and its application relative to the healthcare setting; identifies questions in the healthcare setting and practice that can be answered by nursing research; uses current evidence-based knowledge, including research findings, to guide practice; incorporates evidence when initiating change in practice.Quality of Practice: Contributes to quality nursing practice; ensures practice is safe, effective, efficient, equitable, timely, and patient-centered; identifies barriers and opportunities to improve safety, effectiveness, efficiency, equitability, timeliness, and patient centeredness; recommends strategies to improve nursing quality.Supervisory or Managerial Responsibility

Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) license. CRNA certification by National Board of Certification and Recertification for Nurse Anesthetists (NBCRNA).
