Job Summary and Qualifications
As a Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT), you will administer respiratory care to patients by the attending physician. You will conduct diagnostic procedures to evaluate the need for, and response to, therapy.
You will initiate, monitor, and maintain mechanically ventilated patientsYou will administer and monitor respiratory care treatmentsYou will record pertinent information in patient's medical recordYou will perform noninvasive and invasive diagnostic tests and monitoringYou will perform cleaning, preventative maintenance and calibration of respiratory care equipment as requiredYou will function as respiratory care protocol assessorJob Qualifications

Acute care hospital experience – preferredEducation
Graduate of approved Respiratory Certification ProgramLicenses and Certifications
Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) credential by the National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC)Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) license by the State of TexasBasic Life Support (BLS) certification as per St. David's HealthCare policyAdvanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification as per St. David's HealthCare policy – required within 90 days of hireHeart Hospital of Austin, which is part of St. David'sHealthCare, is a 58-bed hospital.
