The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the department in the development and implementation of innovative computer science programs, enhancing its reputation through high-impact research, and fostering student, community, and business engagement.
This role involves teaching core undergraduate and graduate computer science courses, particularly in the areas of data science, machine learning, and AI, and may include the preparation of classes, student mentoring, and participation in department and community projects.
The ideal candidate will have a Ph.D. in Computer Science or a related field, a strong publication record, and previous faculty leadership experience.
Applicants for the Full Professor/Chair position at the company should hold a Ph.D. in Computer Science or a closely related field, with a preference for a Full Professor with 3-5 years' experience, although Associate Professors with 6-8 years' experience may also be considered.
The role requires an active research and publication record in computer science, particularly within the last five years, and a commitment to excellence in teaching and service.
The candidate will be expected to lead the department in all aspects, including the planning and establishment of new initiatives such as a large grant-funded AI Center.
Collaboration with industry partners and other academic institutions is also a key aspect of the position.
