Description:Piedmont Eastside, Full Time DaysSign On Bonus Available!This 18-bed cardiac unit specializes in the care of both cardiac and vascular patients. The typical patient population found in the CCU includes patients with diagnosis such as chest pain, cardiac dysrhythmias, CHF exacerbation, hypertensive emergency, AAA repair, carotid endarterectomy and pulmonary embolism. Our unit is a hybrid unit and consists of acute, intermediate, and intensive level of care patients. Our nursing staff consists of both tele and ICU nurses. The nurse to patient ratio is typically 1:4 when caring for non-ICU patients and 1:2 (sometimes 1:3) when caring for ICU patients. Our ICU nurses may experience a 1:1 patient ratio when handling the higher acuity patients that are on devices such as CRRT, IABP, and Impella. Our nursing staff works closely with our cardiologists and vascular surgeons along with their teams to provide exceptional patient care. If you are interested in working with a knowledgeable and close-knit group of healthcare professionals, then the Cardiac Care Unit is the place for you.RESPONSIBLE FOR: Coordinates the delivery of quality nursing care for patients from birth through the lifecycle, as well as operational issues during his/her shift. Provides clinical care as needed when census demands. Communicates patient care, departmental issues, and staff concerns to the appropriate leader(s). Serves as resource for guidance and assistance to the staff.IND123#LI-POSTQualifications:MINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIRED:Graduate of a nursing program.MINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:One year of nursing experience in a hospital setting required.MINIMUM LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION REQUIRED BY LAW:Current License in the State of Georgia as a Registered Nurse or NLC/eNLC Multistate License. BLS certification required.ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:Two or more years of nursing experience in a hospital setting preferred. Bachelor's degree preferred. Advanced certification in field of specialty, if applicable. Demonstrated clinical competency.Additional Required Certifications:ACLS Certification - (Nurse Residents or nurses new to specialty will complete applicable certifications within 6 months of start date)
