Chess Club AdvisorJob Description: The MNHS Chess Club provides a weekly opportunity for students interested in both social and serious chess competitions. The team competes in the scholastic Main Line High School Chess League with six other high schools. The club hosts an annual chess championship in the spring, which is open to any student in the high school, not just club members.

Qualifications:Experience: Must be familiar with chess and other board games.Skills: Organization, supervision, management and planning of weekly meetings and competitions.Education: High school diploma or college degree.Essential Functions:Help students improve their chess skills and strategies and develop a positive approach to learning the game.Organizing games, tournaments, and practices.Overseeing club activities, equipment, and supplies.Encouraging participation and interest in chess and promoting the club.Identifying and nurturing talented players and selecting students to compete in tournaments.Providing personalized coaching to players and helping them develop mental preparation and tournament etiquette.Attend all events and supervise students at these events.Other duties as assigned by Administration.Has read and understands obligations as outlined in MNSD School Board Policies.If you are offered a position with Marple Newtown School District, please be advised that the following information will be required before you are able to begin working:
