Chief Accounting Officer

Vaco is seeking a highly experienced and strategic Chief Accounting Officer (CAO) for one of our clients in Milwaukee, WI. The CAO will play a critical role in shaping the company's financial strategy, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and managing accounting functions across multiple entities.

Key ResponsibilitiesStrategic Leadership – supervising 3-5 on the accounting team and 3rd party vendors; identify opportunities for growth, cost efficiencies, and risk mitigation across the organization.Operational Oversight – Oversee cash flow management, investment strategies, and capital allocation to optimize financial performance.Project & Funding Management – Spearhead project funding initiatives, aligning them with the focus on green energy financing.Leadership & Collaboration - Act as a liaison between financial and non-financial stakeholders. Requirements:Bachelor degree in Accounting/Finance and CPA is required.10+ years of financial management experience, including a minimum of 5 years in senior leadership roles.Background in specialty finance, commercial real estate, project-based funding, or renewable energy financing is highly desirable.Proven experience in building and managing financial systems in a fast-growing organization.
