Community Action Partnership of Strafford County (CAPSC) located in Dover, New Hampshire, seeks a Chief Advancement Officer.
The Opportunity CAPSC seeks a strong leader with excellent team-building and organizational skills to guide our board, staff, and dedicated Advancement team to the next level of fundraising success.
Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the successful candidate will be responsible for planning, organizing, directing, and expanding all of CAPSC's annual fundraising and communications efforts.
The successful candidate will create and implement a strategic fundraising plan for all annual fundraising, including direct appeals, special events, private grant writing, and major gifts.
This includes strategies for expanding and diversifying CAPSC's donor base/pipeline among individuals, corporations, and foundations.
Additionally, the successful candidate will work to deepen community engagement and outreach, as well as working closely with team members on the development and implementation of comprehensive marketing and communications plans to promote and enhance CAPSC's brand in support of both fundraising and client service goals.
The Chief Advancement Officer will manage a team of fundraising and marketing professionals to accomplish these goals.
The ideal candidate will be a talented fundraising professional with a solid track record of building deep donor relationships, using a hands-on approach to cultivate and steward donors so they are inspired to give generously and consistently.
The CAO will carry a portfolio of donors of their own and facilitate corporate and foundation relationships.
Excellent communication, decision making, and leadership skills are essential, particularly the ability and personality to motivate staff, board, and volunteers.
Must have a working knowledge of nonprofit management principles and practices, as well as experience developing and managing a budget.
Experience with federal program guidelines preferred.
Proficiency with computer software related to the position, in particular Microsoft 365 and Teams, Adobe, HUB spot, and Raisers Edge donor management, or their equivalents required.
The successful candidate will be a strategic thinker, able to see the big picture, while simultaneously assuring operational effectiveness to create success.
A Bachelor's Degree in a related field and a minimum of five years' demonstrated experience in direct face-to-face fundraising and managing a development program with a track record of success is required.
