Description of Role As the CCO at Yobi, you will directly support Yobi's core mission of democratizing the AI revolution, which can only be sustained if accomplished in a safe and compliant manner. The CCO will report directly to Yobi's CEO, and be a member of the Executive Leadership Team. In this role, you will provide strategic guidance on existing and emerging compliance requirements, introduce compliance programs as needed, conduct data-driven evaluation of ongoing compliance efforts, and conduct risk assessment and mitigation in support of company goals.

Responsibilities Own and operate the company's compliance programs.
Introduce changes to compliance programs based on emergent law and regulation.
Provide strategic input to compliance related technical teams' roadmaps.
Establish and support acquisition of the appropriate level of compliance knowledge and awareness across roles and teams.
Act as an Executive Leadership team participant and stakeholder, incorporating compliance risk and opportunity into Executive Team decision making.
Interact with regulators on compliance issues as needed.
Interact with customer and partner InfoSec and Compliance teams as needed.
Coordinate internal and external audits, reviews, or examinations of process, data, or processing activities.
Prepare Yobi for international expansion
Own and, when necessary, act on Yobi's whistleblower and other compliance-related policies.
Manage and oversee the compliance team as it grows over time
Engage with third party vendors and business partners in compliance due diligence, contracting, and ongoing compliance monitoring

Qualifications Undergraduate degree from an accredited university
Minimum 7 years of data privacy compliance and/or related legal experience in-house, at a privacy regulator, a law firm, and/or in the government
Demonstrated subject matter expertise in data privacy laws, rules, regulations, and industry standards (particularly those specific to privacy and cybersecurity), including sound working knowledge of EU GDPR as well as expertise in privacy risk and compliance management
Ability to work independently and effectively manage and prioritize multiple projects simultaneously
Experience in identifying, assessing and calling out risk (across different functions and levels of the business
An ability to advise and influence executive stakeholders on data privacy matters
Strong stakeholder management experience and skills to collaborate effectively with security and risk professionals, engineers, product development, human resources, and other teams
Strong communication skills and belief in the effective management of privacy as a key business differentiator and core value
Excellent attention to detail and presentation, organization, and negotiation skills
Nice-to-haves: Law degree is strongly beneficial but not explicitly required
Compliance certifications a plus, but nonetheless should be willing to obtain certifications as may be appropriate or beneficial to the company
Experience successfully interacting with customers and potential customers regarding compliance and due diligence review
Experience in adtech and related fields
A track record of operating successfully and contributing to the development of others
