The Chief Development Officer will play a critical role in shaping the strategies underpinning the museum's strategic pillars: Griffin MSI Is My Museum, Science In Our Daily Lives, Meaningful Relationships, and Sustainable Strength.
The Chief Development Officer is responsible for strategizing, planning, coordinating, and implementing a broad-based, multi-constituency development program, including capital campaigns and major gift initiatives, annual giving including membership, and restricted special initiatives.
Griffin MSI seeks a development executive with proven management and leadership experience in a similar position in a museum, science center, or related non-profit organization.
This individual's background and experience would include proven expertise and a record of achievement in development and fundraising practices including major, principal, and planned gift development.
The successful candidate will have a proven track record of closing significant gifts of six figures and above.
The Chief Development Officer is a vital member of the staff leadership team who will work closely with an active volunteer Board of Directors.
The successful candidate must demonstrate the ability to understand and operate effectively within a 501c3 nonprofit governing environment while providing strong leadership in the implementation of best practice management techniques in development/fundraising.
The salary range for this position annually is between $285,000 - $335,000 plus an incentive discretionary bonus potential.

A bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university is required.
