The Division of Orthodontics includes the Postgraduate Program in Orthodontics with its associated specialty clinics, major commitments for the didactic and clinical education Predoctoral and International Dental Programs, and continued basic, translational, and clinical research programs in the oral, dental, and craniofacial field.The successful candidate should have demonstrated administrative, organizational, research, and mentoring skills and a reputation as a leader in academic dentistry. The individual chosen will be responsible for the oversight and development of educational and research programs in orthodontics. Furthermore, the successful candidate will also actively participate in the educational programs and clinical care of the division.This is a full-time academic position. The successful candidate will have a faculty appointment in the appropriate series and rank contingent on qualifications and/or interests. There would also be available funds to support the division chief and faculty from several endowment sources.Candidates must hold a DDS, DMD, DDS/PhD, DMD/PhD and be qualified to be appointed at the associate professor or professor level at UCSF in the academic series most appropriate to their experience and qualifications. Candidates with a PhD alone in areas of investigation directly related to the craniofacial research field would also receive full consideration.The posted UC salary scales set the minimum pay determined by rank and step at appointment. See Table 5. The minimum base salary range for this position is $145,500-$309,800.
