Our Material Handling Division, which spans across MiJack RTG cranes, Broderson industrial cranes, LiftKing forklifts, and Greenfield equipment, is hiring a Chief EngineerIn this role you will lead and manage a team of engineers responsible for the sustainment and new product development of the product line.
Focusing on electrification, manufacturability, cost reduction, enhancing machine performance, reliability, and standardization across the product line, through effective collaboration with our technology partners and across the company.

Essential Functions: Own the technical delivery of the product series meeting customer requirements.
Drive new product development projects in electrification, and product improvement.
Lead sustainment development projects in cost reduction, manufacturability, and warranty reduction.
Partner with purchasing and manufacturing for strategic direction and issue resolution.
Collaborate across our technical engineering teams to develop full machines that meet our internal and external customer expectations and mission requirements.
Develop and maintain relationships with external industry partners to enhance development capabilities.
Partner with both our vehicle systems experts and external partners to develop machine level and component level validation strategies.
Optimize cost, quality, and on-time delivery by improving the efficiency of development activities.
Managing the DV/PV test plan and plan for the prototype builds.
Lead investigation into internal or external product quality issues for high-confidence resolution.
Support robust problem-solving methodology (8D, Red-X, 5Why) to define root cause, develop issue resolution path, and systemic actions to prevent reoccurrence.
Schedule and execute design reviews and project gate reviews.
Develop and present regular reports to senior leadership.
Coach, mentor, and provide direction to the engineering team, fostering professional growth and technical proficiency.
Provide input on the development of engineering processes and procedures.
Assure staffing requirements are met, estimate resources required to complete projects.
Provide budget input on product development tasks.
Maintain CAD for overall full-machine vehicle architecture and customer requirements (we use Autodesk Inventor).
Uphold company policies and procedures, contributing to a harmonious working environment and strong working relationships.
Knowledge/ Skills/ Abilities:Ability to adapt to technological changes in the industry, ensuring departmental readiness for development of new and existing products.
Comprehensive knowledge of design and development practices, with a focus on designing full-machines or machine-systems for heavy machinery.
Proven leadership skills and the ability to manage a specialized team effectively.
Skilled in applying technical knowledge to support and enhance engineering practices.
Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with the engineering team and external partners.
Ability to manage multiple development projects under tight deadlines with a focus on safety and quality.
Knowledge of effective collaboration techniques and ability to build networks with people from different countries and cultures.
Work Environment:
This is primarily an office classification, and employees work in an office with moderate noise levels, controlled temperature conditions and no direct exposure to hazardous physical substances.
May work offsite in various environments.
Up to 25% domestic and international travel will be required.
Physical Demands:
The position occasionally bends, stoops, reaches, pushes and pulls drawers to retrieve and file information and lifts and carries reports, records, and other materials that typically weigh less than 30 pounds.
Required Education & Experience:Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, or a related field.
10+ years of experience working in an engineering capacity supporting product development with a particular focus on full machine delivery in the material handling, construction equipment, agricultural equipment, or other heavy equipment industry.
5+ years of supervisory experience is essential with a proven track record of leading successful teams.
Master's degree in related engineering field desired, but not required.
