Chief Financial Officer (CFO) – Are you someone who is interested in being a part of leadership in overseeing Finance? If so, then the Chief Financial Officer position may be the right role for you.

The Chief Financial Officer is responsible for maximizing the return on financial assets by managing the financial operations of the organization, ensuring the organization's financial health and sustainability. This "hands-on" position will be responsible for all financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis, and compliance requirements, including the development and implementation of financial policies, procedures, controls and reporting systems.
This includes improving operations by developing structures, streamlining procedures, and increasing effectiveness by implementing proven best practices. This position ensures legal and regulatory compliance for all accounting and financial reporting functions.
The Chief Financial Officer analyzes revenue and cost centers, understanding the balance of revenues, costs and braiding of multiple funding sources, as well as the impact changes to each have on agency operations. This position requires a thorough knowledge of grants management, cost allocation, federal cost principles and single audit requirements.
As part of executive leadership, the CFO will develop strategy, indicators, and organizational changes internally and externally. Map strategic plans with appropriate level of detail to enable tactical implementation and benchmark success within budgetary guidelines.
The candidate should have the following: Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree with preferred CPA or Master's Degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, Nonprofit Administration, Operations or relevant fieldTen plus years of experience in financial management showing a progression of increased responsibility, with at least five years in a nonprofit organizationFive plus years of supervisory/management experience showing a progression of responsibilityAnalytical skills with financial data; managing agency budget, periodic forecasting program return on investment (ROI) and business plan goals, monitor overhead expenses, report on fiscal progress and implement strategies to reduce expense and enhance revenueAbility to develop structure needed to improve operations of the Financial and Accounting Functions as well as the agency's Social Ventures; implement streamlined procedures for increased effectiveness and integration of servicesAbility to oversee the organization's current social ventures, and create opportunities for growth and profitability, as well as new business developmentLeadership skills to influence others to achieve results that are in the best interest of the organizationStrong organizational skills; ability to set priorities, develop a work schedule, monitor progress towards goals, and track details, data, information and activitiesAbility to develop strategies to move the agency forward, set goals, create and implement action plans, and evaluate the process and resultsAbility to develop new ways to improve operations and to create new opportunitiesAbility to assess situations to determine the importance, urgency and risks, and make clear decisions which are timely and in the best interests of the organizationTeamwork skills, working co-operatively and effectively with others to set goals, resolve problems, and make decisions that enhance organizational effectivenessProblem solving skills, ability to assess problems, identify causes, gather and process relevant information, generate possible solutions, and make recommendations and/or resolve the problemStrong knowledge of applicable laws, regulations and compliance requirementsWhy should you apply?
