Major General Contracting Construction Company in Washington DC AreaExecutive Leadership PositionAbout Our Client The Chief Financial Officer is a key Executive leadership role for this Commercial General Contracting Construction company located in the Washington DC Metro area. Typical project sizes for the business are between $30M - $200M. The business has won a whole host of awards and is widely recognized as one of the top construction companies to work for in the DMV region.
Job Description Collaborate with senior leadership to formulate and implement the organization's strategic vision, offering financial insights that shape business decisions and promote long-term growth.Lead the design and execution of financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and analytical processes.Deliver detailed financial analysis to support strategic decision-making, identifying opportunities to reduce costs or increase revenue.Ensure the timely and accurate production of financial statements, reports, and related disclosures.Ensure adherence to accounting standards (GAAP) and relevant regulatory requirements.Evaluate and mitigate financial risks, including those related to markets, credit, operations, and compliance.Develop and enforce strong risk management policies and controls to protect the company's assets.Oversee cash flow management to fulfill financial commitments and support growth strategies.Lead, mentor, and develop the finance team to foster a culture of accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement.Ensure the finance team is equipped with the skills and resources to achieve organizational objectives.Build and maintain strong relationships with third-party providers, including banks, legal firms, insurers, auditors, and property managers.Oversee audit processes, including independent audits, workers' compensation, sales tax, and insurance audits.Act as the company's primary financial spokesperson, communicating performance and strategy to partners and stakeholders.Provide clear, actionable financial insights to drive decision-making.Ensure compliance with financial regulations, tax laws, and reporting requirements.Collaborate with legal and compliance teams to navigate regulatory changes and maintain compliance.Develop an annual operating budget and capital expenditure plan for the organization.The Successful Applicant Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Related DegreeCPA strongly preferredMaster's Degree in Finance, Accounting or Business Administration preferred15 - 20 + years of Accounting tenure within the Construction Sector5 + years previous tenure as a Chief Financial OfficerTrack record at training and developing high performing Finance FunctionsDemonstrated career track record of implementing strategic financial growth plans for a Construction company with Annual Revenue streams $100M and aboveWhat's on Offer Competitive Base SalaryAnnual Bonus Based off Company PerformanceRetirement benefits - access to 401k plan and company matchHealth and wellness - medical, dental and vision insurance plansExecutive car allowancePaid Time Off - extended vacation time, personal days, sick leave and national days vacationExecutive Coaching and Professional DevelopmentLife Insurance and Long-Term Disability PlansCompany discounts/perksOpportunity to implement/further develop company benefits/rewards planIf you would like to learn more about this opportunity and feel you have the demonstrated skills, qualifications, and career track record in the Construction Industry to excel in the role, please submit your resume for further consideration.
