Company: Confidential An award-winning residential real estate company is looking for a Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to join their executive team at their corporate office in Chicago, IL. The CFO will oversee all finance and accounting operations of the company.
The CFO will be accountable for the administrative, financial and risk management operations of the company, to include the development of a financial and operational strategy, metrics tied to that strategy and the ongoing development and monitoring of control systems designed to preserve company assets and report accurate financial results.
Principal accountabilities are: PlanningProviding leadership, direction and management of the finance and accounting teamProviding strategic recommendations to the CEO/President and members of the executive management teamDevelop financial and tax strategiesManage the capital request and budgeting processesDevelop performance measures and monitoring systems that support the company's strategic directionOperationsManage the processes for financial forecasting and budgets, and overseeing the preparation of all financial reportingManage 3rd parties to which accounting and/or finance functions have been outsourcedOversee the company's transaction processing systemsImplement operational best practicesOversee employee benefit plans, with emphasis on maximizing a cost-effective benefits packageSupervise acquisition process focusing on due diligence and negotiate acquisition termsAdvise on long-term business and financial planningEstablish and develop relations with senior management and external partners and stakeholdersFinancial InformationOversee the issuance of financial informationReport financial results to the Senior Management Team and/or Board of DirectorsRisk ManagementUnderstand and mitigate key elements of the company's risk profileMaintain appropriate insurance coverageEnsure that the company complies with all legal and regulatory requirementsEnsure that record keeping meets the requirement of auditors and government agenciesReport risk issues to the CEO and/or audit committee of the boardFundingMonitor cash balances and cash forecastsArrange for debt financing and equity financingInvest fundsThird PartiesMaintain banking relationshipsRepresent the company with investment bankers and investorsDesired Qualifications Master's degree in Accounting or Business Administration or equivalent business experience. MBA or CPA is highly desirableAt least 10 years' finance experience, preferably with experience in the real estate industryStrong knowledge of internal controls and accounting guidelinesA proven record of improving financial resultsMust display exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, both verbally and written
