Company Description Booth Creek Wagyu (BCW) is a vertically integrated wagyu beef company primarily located in and around Manhattan KS. The vision of BCW is to become the leading direct to consumer premium beef company in the US. BCW consists of four different companies that encompass the raising of terminal and breeding genetics on the ranch, its own processing facility, feedlot operations, and its own sales and distribution company with primary channels consisting of online sales and its own retail specialty "meat market" stores, and wholesale to select restaurants and other meat markets.
Job Description
Oversee the management and development of the accounting, finance, and potential distribution center operations functions of the following entities
Booth Creek Wagyu Ranch: Accounting responsibility of a 500 cow/calf (and growing) operation that includes its own farming operation and a lot of moving parts on the repro side due to extensive embryo transfer, AI, and partnership calf buyback programs. As the genetics are proven out on the rail, significant seed stock opportunities will become a part of the ranch entity as well.
Meatworks of Kansas: Our wholly owned processing entity. Manage monthly financial statements that include significant WIP. Our "grid" now encompasses the buying and selling of other customers carcasses once grading is performed to use in our beef co or sell to other customers.
Wagyu Feeders Inc: Our terminal feed company that feeds our cattle along with customers that use us for feeding and processing.
Booth Creek Wagyu Inc: Our distribution entity that sells online through our own distribution center and serves as the supply chain for our two (and growing) specialty meat market stores.
Qualifications
Job Requirements
Education: BS degree in Accounting, Finance, or Agricultural Economics
MBA or CPA preferred, agricultural background and/or work experience preferred
Experience: 5+ years in Accounting and Finance work setting
Excellent strategic abilities in market and financial research with the ability to consolidate, analyze data, and develop forecasts, recommendations, action plans that will help drive business performance
Experience in strategic planning, SWOT analysis, and developing a Key Driver Action Plan
Extensive budgeting and analytical skills with experience handling investment proposals
Strong attention to details and thoroughness
Natural curiosity: eager to dig in and understand the business
Willing to ask questions and solicit feedback
Flexible, adaptable, and versatile
Proactive decision-maker with excellent written and verbal communication skills
Demonstrates a high level of proficiency with their understanding of GAAP, budgeting, and forecasting
Proven experience of producing and leading timely and accurate monthly financial statements and analysis
Experience managing and leading an operating company through a financial audit
