Chief Financial Officer Position Summary: The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) is responsible for managing the financial strategy and operations of Ace Ethanol and its related entities. The CFO ensures the financial health of the organization by providing strategic leadership and oversight for accounting, finance, budgeting, tax, risk management, and compliance. The CFO will lead and direct the finance team, establish long-term financial goals, and work closely with other senior executives to drive profitability and operational excellence. Duties and Responsibilities: Financial Leadership and Strategy: Develop and implement financial strategies to achieve the company's long-term objectives. Advise the President/General Manager and Board of Directors on financial performance, strategies, and projections. Lead the preparation of annual budgets, forecasts, and financial plans. Provides financial information for capital investments, loans and grant procurement, and special projects. Present financial information and analysis to the Board of Directors, ensuring transparency and clarity in financial communications. Financial Reporting and Compliance Ensure the timely and accurate preparation and presentation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). Oversee and coordinate all financial audits, and ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations. File required monthly, quarterly, and annual reports with regulatory agencies, including Department of Agricultural, Trade, and Consumer Protection (DATCP), Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), and Department of Labor (DOL). Maintain strong internal controls over financial reporting and ensure compliance with all accounting policies and procedures. Risk Management and Internal Controls Oversee the development and implementation of a comprehensive risk management program. Manage insurance renewals and ensure adequate coverage for property, general liability, workers' compensation, cyber liability, and other business-related risks. Monitors/records hedging, and prepares weekly, monthly and annual reports. Operational Oversight Administer and oversee all financial operations, including grains payable, trade payable, accounts receivable, payroll, 401k administration, credit/collections, and fixed assets management. Manage cash flow and liquidity and provide projections to support business growth and financial stability. Lead the ERP system administration, ensuring optimal performance and integration of financial systems such as Great Plains, AgTech Commodities, Kwiktag, and MAPCON. Leadership and Team Development Lead and mentor the accounting team, ensuring the development of talent and promoting a culture of high performance. Support and facilitate the professional growth of team members, providing opportunities for advancement and continuing education. Stakeholder Management Maintain strong relationships with external partners, including banks, auditors, legal advisors, and regulatory agencies. Ensure accurate and timely communication with Members and maintain the LLC Partnership Membership list, including member distributions and transfers. Required Skills & Abilities: Proven leadership experience with excellent management and supervisory skills. Exceptional organizational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities. Highly proficient in accounting software, as well as Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel. Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex financial information clearly and effectively. Experience in ERP system implementation and integration is highly desirable. Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities effectively. Education & Experience: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration required; MBA or equivalent advanced degree preferred. Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA) strongly preferred. Minimum of 10 years of experience in finance and accounting, with at least 5 years in a leadership role. Experience in the agricultural or ethanol industry is highly desirable, particularly with commodities risk management and hedging. Familiarity with Great Plains Accounting or similar ERP systems is a plus. Working Conditions: Primarily in an office environment with prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Occasional travel to company sites and participation in industry-related events. Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times. Must be able to access and navigate all areas of the organization's facilities, using required personal protective equipment as necessary.
