Please review our open positions and apply to the positions that match your qualifications.SUMMARY DESCRIPTION: The CIO will work in collaboration with the Executive Leadership Team (ELT) to execute a comprehensive programmatic strategy to enhance our service delivery and accelerate impact on children and families. This position combines our external affairs (partnerships, professional development and advocacy/role in the field, and DEI), program function and data functions to create a unified programmatic team that will help design our end-to-end programmatic strategy to accelerate family impact, shift family trajectories and influence early childhood education policy resulting in improved outcomes for children and families.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES: Program Leadership, Oversight, and Evaluation:Oversee the coordination, integration, and delivery of all programs, promoting collaborative relationships between program areas and ensuring that the expectations of staff, partners, funders, and other stakeholders are consistently met.Lead the evaluation process for determining the agency's optimal programmatic models (including but not limited to curriculum, family support, nutrition, etc.) and oversee the implementation of these models across all centers.Oversee the Georgia Training Institute's digital strategy to engage a broader cross section of educators locally and nationally.As the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) Officer for the organization, set the strategy for the agency's race, equity and inclusion initiative and support the development of an equitable and inclusive culture across all locations collaboratively with a cross functional committee, including Human Resources.Establish, provide oversight, and deliver on key performance indicators organization-wide in service delivery, early learning, family services, professional development, and partnerships.Regularly analyze and assess Sheltering Arms' programmatic impact to drive ongoing improvement in our work.Leverage existing systems (such as ProCare and ChildPlus) to gather and analyze the data to inform the programmatic and operational decision making process and increase the agency's efficiency, transparency, and collaboration across teams.Team Leadership and Management:Create a team culture where all people can thrive, grow, and develop in order to further the mission of Sheltering Arms.Manage and support the Impact Team to achieve their performance and professional development goals.Deploy resources efficiently and effectively toward organizational goals, working with staff to balance workload and effort, and provide regular feedback so that key staff can continuously improve their skills.Set the vision for and oversee internal and external training and professional development programming working collaboratively with Human Resources to improve the quality and impact of our work.Enterprise Leadership and Organizational Strategy:Serve as a member of the Executive Leadership Team, providing input and making decisions on issues of org-wide magnitude.Participate in the budget development process and maintain a high level of fiscal responsibility.Implement Sheltering Arms' strategic plan as set by the Board of Directors, and in collaboration with the rest of the Executive Team, as well as developing and implementing new initiatives that serve the organization's mission.Collaboratively set and steward the organization's strategic direction and developing a comprehensive programmatic impact plan for the organization.Champion Sheltering Arms' mission, vision, and strategic efforts both inside and outside the organization.Actively embody anti-racist practices in all aspects of their work, and push the organization to continue to grow and improve within these values by modeling a strong and inclusive culture for their team and the streams of work they manage.KNOWLEDGE, ABILITIES, AND SKILLS: Dynamic Leadership: You think strategically, set bold visions for our programmatic work.Achieve Ambitious Goals: You envision beyond the status quo.Adjust Course: You pivot effectively in a dynamic landscape.Diversity, Equity and Inclusion: You leverage our differences as strengths and look for opportunities to redistribute power in response to inequity.Communication: You listen actively and respond appropriately.Solutions Orientation: You have a deep belief in our mission and take part in finding solutions for the problems we identify.EDUCATION, TRAINING, AND EXPERIENCE: Bachelor's degree from an accredited college required.Advanced degree and/or advanced certification or specialization preferred.At least ten years of professional experience, including experience managing teams in a nonprofit, government, or philanthropy setting, overseeing multiple programs or contracts (ideally at an organization serving low-income youth or communities).Technical Skills: Demonstrated experience managing a high-performing team in a multi-site structure, including professional development and mentorship.Comprehensive working knowledge of early childhood education, including Head Start and Early Head Start.Demonstrated ability to analyze and compile complex data for planning and reporting purposes.CERTIFICATE AND LICENSE REQUIREMENTS: None
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Employee is expected to engage in bending, crawling, stooping, standing, vision, lifting, and walking and talking. Employee is expected to make quick decisions, supervise workers, read or write, speak publicly, or interpret data.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: Travel is required to various Sheltering Arms sites and functions, as well as by car and plane to other cities and states. Position requires the attending of occasional evening and weekend functions.
