Job Description
Dewberry is currently seeking a
Chief Inspector
to join our
Construction Management Group
in
Manteca, CA .
Responsibilities
Working knowledge of federally funded structures construction in California, with a specific focus on inspection of both shallow and deep foundations, as well as cast-in-place and precast concrete bridge superstructures.
Individual must be proactive in identifying field issues and developing solutions to keep the work moving.
Prepare and process construction records, including RFI's, submittals, progress pay applications, extra work billings, and contract change orders.
Ability to document all field activities, work in a collaborative manner with the owner and contractor and represent Dewberry and our clients in the highest capacity.
Familiarity with common computer programs such as MS Word and Excel for completing daily diaries, quantity calculations and other required tasks.
Supervises staff necessary to complete work. Provides Q/A and Q/C of their work and may partake in personnel actions.
Required Skills & Required Experience
15+ years' of experience.
Strong written and oral communication skills.
Relevant project experience on Caltrans Local Assistance transportation projects with proven results.
Knowledge of Caltrans 2023 specifications, policies and procedures, concrete testing methods, Caltrans Bridge Construction Records and Procedures Manual, and structure construction means and methods.
Understanding of SWPPP requirements and temporary stream diversions associated with in-water foundation work.
Experience with traffic control and lane closures is a plus.
HS diploma; Associates degree in technical discipline is preferred.
Must have a valid driver's license, good driving record and ability to pass a driving record background check.

The projected range for this position is $52.21/Hour - $70.48/Hour. Depending upon other factors, i.e., skills, experience, location, market conditions, the range may vary slightly. This position is covered under CA prevailing wage. In addition to the base hourly rate, all applicable fringes will apply.
