Alaska Behavioral Health is seeking applicants for a Chief Medical Officer.
Anchorage provides quick access in the winter to skiing, snowboarding, snowmobiling, dog sledding and much more with easy access to hiking trails, biking, river rafting, fishing, and hunting in all seasons.
Anchorage has a population of approximately 300,000 and offers a diverse cultural setting and great schools.

About the Team Our medical department is dedicated to helping our clients improve their lives through a coordinated approach to care involving clients, their caregivers, their clinical staff, and primary care providers.

What You'll Do Supervise a collaborative team of medical professionals in a work environment that includes primary care providers, mental health prescribers, nurses and support staff.Provide direct client care in an outpatient setting to include performing psychiatric assessments for new patients and providing continuity of care for existing patients.Identify medical and psychiatric system issues and develop solutions to identified problems.Develop and implement medical/psychiatric policies.Good To Know Position is based in Anchorage, AlaskaFull-Time, ExemptPosition is eligible for up to $25,000 Signing Bonus based on length of commitment.Up to $5,000 and 40 hours of Category I CE's.Our excellent benefit package includes generous PTO (eight weeks a year), two health insurance options for employees and children, employer-paid life insurance/AD&D, and a 401(k) plan with immediate vesting and up to 5% employer match (Roth and after-tax options are also available in addition to pre-tax contributions).
Voluntary benefits include dental, vision, and additional life insurance.The position does not require weekend or evening shifts as well as no on-call shifts.A flexible work schedule of 4/10's is available.Some preference will be given for Child and Adolescent qualifications.What We Need from You You have a medical degree from an accredited medical school and are Board-certified or Board-eligible by American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology.You have or are willing to obtain an unrestricted Alaska Medical License and Current DEA certificate.You have a desire to work in community psychiatry and/or with chronic mental illness.Alaska Behavioral Health is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
