Title: Chief Medical Officer(CMO)/Practicing Physician
Reports to: Chief Executive Officer

Position Overview: The Chief Medical Officer (CMO)-Practicing Physician will oversee medical operations and strategy while also providing patient care and clinical duties. This position will report to both the Chief Executive Officer in their capacity as the CMO and to the Board of Directors for LGBTQ Health and Wellness Center for their clinical duties. The dual reporting requires effective time management, communication, and prioritization skills to balance administrative responsibilities with patient care obligations. Job Duties & Responsibilities: Chief Medical Officer (CMO):Develop and implement strategic plans that align with Resource Center's mission and goals.Identify opportunities for growth and innovation in Resource Center's healthcare delivery and recommend strategies for improvement.Provide medical expertise and guidance in the development of programs and initiatives to address health needs in the LGBTQ+ community.Oversee medical staff ensuring compliance with clinical protocols, standards of care, and regulatory requirements.Provide leadership to medical staff and foster a collaborative and supportive work environment.Conduct performance evaluations, provide feedback and identify opportunities for professional development.Develop and enforce policies related to medical practices, protocols, and procedures.Collaborate with executive leadership, board members and external stakeholders to represent medical perspectives and interests.Manage budget and resources allocated to medical operations.Identify and mitigate potential risks related to medical operations and patient care.Practicing Physician:Provide direct patient care, diagnosing illnesses, prescribing treatments, and managing patient health in accordance with standards of quality and practice protocols and policies.Build rapport with patients, addressing their concerns, and ensuring their understanding of treatment plans.Document patient encounters accurately and timely, ensuring compliance with medical record-keeping standards.Stay updated with the latest medical research, treatments and technologies through ongoing education and training.Collaborate with other health professionals such as specialists to ensure comprehensive patient care.Comply with all policies, standards, and procedures of Clinic. Job Requirements & Qualifications:Medical Degree (MD or DO) from an accredited institution.Board certification in a relevant specialty (e.g. infectious disease, internal medicine, family medicine, etc.).Current, unrestricted medical license to practice in the state of Texas.Proven experience in clinical leadership roles, preferably within a non-profit or community health setting.Understanding of healthcare administration, regulatory compliance, and quality improvement methodologies.Excellent communication, interpersonal and team-building skills.Commitment to Resource Center's mission and values.Ability to multitask, prioritize and make sound decisions.Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and build effective relationships with diverse stakeholders.Understanding of community health issues and healthcare delivery systems.
