We are looking for a Chief Medical Officer who will be responsible for overall medical activities of patient care services, related medical administrative components, and medical liaison activities with members of the local medical community for the organization in compliance with organization policies and procedures and applicable laws and regulations. The CMO will also be the site director for the hospice portion of the Hospice and Palliative Medicine Fellowship at UCSF. Along with this responsibility will be the potential for an academic appointment at UCSF. By the Bay Health follows all CDPH vaccine requirements for healthcare personnel. Essential Duties & Responsibilities include(but are not limited to):
Assures overall continuity of the hospice medical services.Assures the patient receives appropriate measures to control uncomfortable symptoms.Re-certify patients, as appropriate, for continuation of Medicare Hospice benefit at appropriate levels of care.Serving as a medical resource to Hospice staff, patients, families, and attending physicians regarding pain and symptom management.Education/Experience: Licensed physician under the provisions of the California Business and Professions CodeBoard certification from American Board of Hospice & Palliative medicine preferred or to be achieved within two years of employment.Demonstrated understanding and acceptance of hospice principles of care.Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: Current and active medical physician license in the state of CaliforniaCurrent DEA licenseCurrent California Driver's license and automobile insurance that meets the State of California requirement, if driving a car.Pay Range:
$320K - $365K annually
