Overview As a strategic business leader & trusted advisor to the CTPO (Chief Technology & Product Officer), the Chief of Staff (CoS) will enable the CTPO to effectively fulfill the commitments to driving technological innovation, shaping the digital roadmap, and ensuring the successful implementation of technology initiatives within the company.
The CoS will have the opportunity to drive and influence the Product organization's transformation through near-term business execution and long-term strategy formulation. This role will work closely with the Products leadership team as well as strategy and operation leaders across the office of the CEO, Sales, Marketing, and Customer Experience organizations.
It is both a strategic and operational excellence position that requires a combination of focus and flexibility, a balance of responsiveness, diplomacy, and assertiveness. A successful candidate will be a highly resourceful and self-motivated individual with strong emotional intelligence, business savvy, and communication acumen.
This leader will be the voice of the CTPO in all forums internal and external & will be responsible for delivering the results of the cross-functional team at Extreme.
Responsibilities: Drive & lead strategic projects directly involving the CTPO:Provide detailed analysis in advance of virtual and in-person meetings daily, and at special events. Capture takeaways and drive to a conclusion.Drive strategic and cross-functional initiatives and monitor progress/achievement of actions and focus areas.When alignment is absent or key deliverables won't be met, openly communicate and elevate those issues with the CTPO and ideate to resolve the problem and mitigate risk.Represent the CTPO in internal and external meetings & forums:The CoS should be able to attend meetings on behalf of the CTPO including internal and external meetings including cross-functional teams and accurately reflect the CTPO's position.The CoS should be able to relay the meeting actionable/deliverables/decisions back to the CTPO.Support and promote Extreme Networks' core values:The CoS will support, cultivate, and promote Extreme's core leadership values for winning: candor, transparency, ownership, teamwork, curiosity, and inclusion. The CoS will partner closely with the CTPO and cross-functional organizations to strategize and provide insights and solutions on talent priorities & needs to promote communications, collaboration, and camaraderie.Design, review, and approve CTPO's internal and external communications:Design, review, and approve CTPO's communications (providing direction, edits, or create if needed, etc.), ranging from the CTPO's update at Board meetings and CEO's QBRs, to follow-up correspondence related to the CTPO's various meetings with customers, partners, and staff, as well as various external speaking engagements.Lead rhythm of business and operational meetings:The CoS will lead alongside the CTPO business meetings, including Products leadership weekly staff, Products quarterly business reviews (QBRs), and Products employee monthly town halls.The CoS will partner closely with the Products leadership team to align the agenda, drive business objectives & deliverables to ensure optimal meeting productivity and faster decision making.Create, track, measure and monitor KPIs for the Product Organization:The CoS will collaborate with the internal product teams, sales operations, and marketing team to develop and agree upon a common set of products KPIs (along with measurement methodologies, and reporting format), that Products organization is accountable and responsible for.The CoS will engage Products organization stakeholders to meet frequently for continuous inspection of KPIs, course correction, and process optimization, to ensure all teams work together to reach a shared goal of revenue growth.Drive Product Organizations' Annual Budget Planning and Long-Range Planning Process:The CoS owns & drives the operational process and timeline, of product organization's annual budget planning and long-range planning cycles.Representing the CTPO and the Product organization, the CoS will attend planning meetings with counterparts from finance, marketing, sales, and customer experience, to ensure cross-functional requirements and dependencies surface early in the planning cycle.The CoS will maintain data and budget spending to evaluate actual performance and make recommendations to business leaders on performance target achievement.The CoS will develop data-driven analyses to optimize resources and ensure that business plans can be translated into financial value.About the right person: 10+ years' experience in technology, preferably in CoS, communications, business operations, and/or related leadership positions. Industry knowledge in networking, telecommunications, and cloud SaaS is a plus.Track record of frequent collaboration with the Executive leadership team.Excellent speaking, written, and presentation skills. Experience developing transparent business communications and change management strategies.Ability to synthesize and analyze data to solve complex business challenges.Experience leading multi-faceted transformation projects, programs, and initiatives. Track record of prioritizing and organizing work to achieve goals and surpass expectations.Proven track record with data-driven budget planning integrated across multiple functions and aligned with disciplined financial return objectives.Proven ability to navigate complex technology landscapes and align technology initiatives with business objectives.Familiarity with Agile and DevOps methodologies for software development/delivery.Bachelor's degree.
