Job Description:DrBalcony, an innovative and fast-growing start-up in the civil engineering industry, is seeking a visionary and strategic Chief Operating Officer (COO) to oversee the company's day-to-day operations and ensure efficient and scalable growth. As a critical member of the executive team, the COO will be responsible for driving operational excellence, managing cross-functional teams, and implementing the company's strategic plans to optimize performance and achieve long-term success.
The COO will work closely with the CEO and other leaders to align operational activities with business goals, enhance customer satisfaction, and ensure DrBalcony continues to deliver high-quality engineering solutions. This role is ideal for a seasoned operations leader with experience in scaling start-ups or growing companies in the civil engineering or construction sector.
Key Responsibilities: Oversee daily operations and ensure smooth, efficient, and scalable processes across all departments, including engineering, project management, and customer relations. Develop and implement strategies to improve operational efficiency, productivity, and profitability while maintaining high-quality standards. Work closely with the CEO and executive team to define the company's strategic direction and ensure operational alignment with business goals. Lead, mentor, and manage cross-functional teams, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture. Ensure that projects are delivered on time, within scope, and meet quality standards. Identify and mitigate operational risks, ensuring that the company is prepared for future challenges. Drive continuous improvement initiatives across all operations, including supply chain management, project execution, and customer service. Establish and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure operational success and identify areas for improvement. Collaborate with the CFO to manage budgets, control costs, and ensure financial efficiency in operations. Oversee hiring, training, and development of key personnel to build a strong and capable workforce. Manage relationships with key partners, suppliers, and clients, ensuring satisfaction and operational excellence. Support business development initiatives by streamlining operations to accommodate growth. Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field (MBA preferred). 10+ years of experience in operations or a similar leadership role, with at least 5+ years in a senior management position in the civil engineering, construction, or related industries. Proven experience in scaling start-ups or rapidly growing companies. Strong understanding of operational processes, project management, and supply chain management. Excellent leadership skills with the ability to build, motivate, and manage cross-functional teams. Strategic thinker with a track record of implementing operational strategies that drive growth and profitability. Experience managing budgets, controlling costs, and ensuring financial efficiency. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to make data-driven decisions. Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with executives, employees, and external partners.
