The Chief Operations Office (COO) is responsible for overseeing all operational aspects of Intercap's mortgage lending operations division. The COO must establish and maintain efficient, compliant, and customer-centric mortgage lending processes. This role requires a strategic leader with a strong understanding of mortgage operations, regulatory requirements, underwriting guidelines and industry best practices. The COO is an in-office position, located in Salt Lake City, Utah.
ResponsibilitiesDevelop and implement operational strategies to streamline mortgage lending processes and enhance efficiency.Oversee all aspects of the mortgage lending lifecycle, from application to closing, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies.Lead and manage teams responsible for underwriting, processing and closing, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.Implement risk management protocols to mitigate operational risks and ensure the integrity of our mortgage lending operations.Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including sales, marketing, finance, and technology, to drive operational excellence and support business objectives.Monitor key performance indicators (KPI's) to assess operational performance and identify areas for improvement.Develop and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including borrowers, lenders, wholesale partners, regulators, vendors, and industry partners.Stay abreast of industry trends, regulatory changes, and emerging technologies to inform strategic decision-making and drive innovation within the mortgage lending division.Manage budgets and allocate resources effectively to support operational objectives and achieve financial targets.QualificationsBachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, or a related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred.Minimum of 10 years of experience in mortgage lending operations, with a proven track record of leadership and success.Strong understanding of mortgage lending regulations, compliance requirements, underwriting guidelines and industry best practices.Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, with the ability to effectively prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.Demonstrated leadership abilities, with experience leading and managing teams to achieve operational excellence and drive results.Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders at all levels of the organization.Proficiency in mortgage lending software and technology platforms.Relevant industry certifications preferred.
