About the Role The Company is seeking a Chief Privacy Officer to join their team.
The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the development, implementation, and maintenance of the company's privacy and access policies and procedures.
This role requires close collaboration with various business units to ensure compliance with federal and state privacy laws, including HIPAA, FTI, PCI, SSA, FERPA, CJIS, and FISMA.
The Chief Privacy Officer will also serve as the subject matter expert for all department privacy officers, coordinate data breach investigations, and prepare reports on privacy and data protection risks.
Additionally, the role involves providing guidance on privacy impact assessments, maintaining knowledge of privacy laws, and leading the data classification and inventory efforts.
Applicants must have a law degree, be licensed to practice law in Tennessee, and have a strong background in privacy, information technology, and business management.
A minimum of 5-10 years' of legal experience is preferred, along with relevant professional privacy or information technology experience.
The ideal candidate will have expert knowledge of data protection laws and practices, as well as recognized privacy or compliance certifications.
Strong interpersonal, presentation, and communication skills are essential, as is the ability to handle confidential information with integrity.
The Chief Privacy Officer will also be responsible for ensuring that the company's data security language is properly depicted in all contracts and for providing privacy training to employees and third parties.
