Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist We are seeking a dedicated Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist to join our team at a leading inpatient facility in Anchorage, AK.
This role focuses on delivering high-quality psychiatric care to adolescents and children in a supportive and collaborative inpatient setting.
The successful candidate will be involved in all aspects of patient care, including initial evaluations, ongoing assessments, and treatment planning.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Conduct initial psychiatric evaluations and assess mental health conditions of patients.Implement individualized treatment plans based on patient assessments and diagnosis.Lead and participate in treatment team meetings to discuss patient progress and adjust treatment strategies as needed.Provide ongoing care and make amendments to treatment plans based on patient needs and responses.Oversee and participate in the discharge planning process.Provide documentation and maintain accurate patient records in compliance with healthcare regulations and standards.Opportunities to work on a flexible schedule which may include block scheduling or a Monday-Friday routine.Engage in minimal call and weekend duties to ensure continuous patient support.Mentor medical students, psychiatry residents, fellows, and nursing students.Pursue professional development and leadership opportunities within the unit.Minimum Position Qualifications: Valid state license to practice psychiatry.Board certified or board eligible in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry.Experience in inpatient psychiatric settings, particularly with child and adolescent populations.Proficient in the use of electronic medical records and telepsychiatry platforms.Demonstrated ability to develop and lead treatment teams and multi-disciplinary panels.Strong understanding of the latest psychiatric research and methods appropriate for children and adolescents.Preferred Qualifications: Experience with a diverse patient population.Additional certification in areas such as cognitive behavioral therapy, trauma-informed care, or similar methodologies.Prior experience in teaching and mentoring in an academic setting.Leadership experience or roles within psychiatric units.Published research in child and adolescent psychiatry or related fields.Active participation in psychiatric symposia or continuous education programs.Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with patients, families, and staff.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to develop effective treatment plans.Empathetic and compassionate approach to patient care.Robust organizational skills and the ability to multitask effectively.Ability to manage stress and maintain composure during challenging situations.Proficiency in IT skills required for telepsychiatry and electronic documentation.Benefits: Competitive salary and compensation package.Comprehensive health insurance, including dental and vision plans.Retirement planning and pension options.Generous vacation and leave policies.Continuous professional development and education support.Opportunities for career advancement and growth within the organization.
