Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist We are seeking a highly skilled and passionate Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist to join our dedicated team at our residential treatment facility in Norfolk, VA. This full-time position offers a unique opportunity to provide compassionate, specialized care within a supportive and collaborative environment. The ideal candidate will be fellowship-trained with a commitment to improving the lives of children and adolescents experiencing a wide range of psychological conditions. The role includes clinical responsibilities and a potential leadership position as Medical Director.
Salary: DOE per year
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Conduct thorough psychiatric evaluations, develop treatment plans, and monitor outcomes.Provide direct clinical care using evidence-based approaches tailored to individual needs.Work collaboratively with therapists, nurses, social workers, and other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care.Participate in the training and supervision of residents and fellows, contributing to their academic and professional growth.Engage with patients' families to support treatment objectives and enhance understanding of patient conditions.Ensure compliance with all healthcare regulations and maintain the highest standards of patient confidentiality and ethical care.Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings, offering expert insights into psychiatric care and treatment progress.Maintain up-to-date knowledge of pharmacological and non-pharmacological treatment modalities.Potential to take on the role of Medical Director, overseeing clinical operations and guiding program development.Minimum Position Qualifications: MD or DO degree from an accredited school of medicine or osteopathy.Valid and active state medical license.Board Certified or Board Eligible in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry.Completion of an accredited Child and Adolescent Psychiatry fellowship.Strong clinical skills with the ability to manage complex cases independently.Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with proven ability to work effectively in a team.Preferred Qualifications: Experience in a residential treatment setting.Demonstrated leadership capabilities and interest in taking on a medical director role.Experience with electronic medical records and telepsychiatry platforms.Commitment to ongoing professional development and education.Experience participating in research projects or clinical trials.Skills: Expert diagnostic capabilities and proficiency in evidence-based therapeutic approaches.Exceptional decision-making skills and clinical judgment.Strong organizational skills and ability to manage a large caseload efficiently.Compassionate and empathetic bedside manner with resilience in challenging emotional environments.Ability to foster a supportive and inclusive environment for patients, families, and staff.Benefits: Very competitive base salary.Comprehensive health insurance coverage.Malpractice insurance fully covered.Generous Paid Time Off (PTO) and Continuing Medical Education (CME) allowances.Matching 401k retirement plan.Possibility for leadership and advancement in the form of a Medical Director role.
