The Children's Education Ministry Director is responsible to oversee and shepherd the children of Living Faith Community Church to strengthen their growth and faith in Jesus Christ. This person will seek to foster a strong Christian Education Program through prayerful and intentional planning, coordinating, providing vision for, and implementing ministry programs for families with babies/toddlers and children in PreK through 5th grade.
Duties and Responsibilities: Subject to review and supervision with the pastor, and the Living Faith Community Church session (when appropriate). The following outlines the major responsibilities of the Christian Education Director at Living Faith Community Church.
Attend required meetingsOversee the weekly Sunday nursery needs of families with babies and toddlers, as well as Sunday children's programming for PreK through 5th gradeOccasionally, lead bible study for children and lead children's worshipOversee the coordination of children's programs: Vacation Bible School, church-wide retreats, Spring/Fall festival, Advent and Lent season activities, childcare for church-wide events, and a children's education ministry summer programRecruit volunteers for Sunday teaching and other children's education ministry programsIn accordance with reformed denominational doctrinal standards, develop and/or find Gospel-centered curriculum and materials to use for Sunday school and other events, keeping in mind the needs of different age groups: nursery, toddlers & Pre-K, K-2nd, and 3rd-5th and also keeping in mind the needs of our children with special needsRefine children's ministry policies and procedures for the ministry as neededCommunicate with parents and church about children's education ministry announcements, updates, and events through meetings, email, and social mediaTake and report attendance of children on Sundays and each eventAssist the church administrator and welcoming ministry in welcoming new families and keeping our church's database updated with information for visiting families who become regular attendeesAdvocate to the congregation, session, staff, and church leaders, the children's presence and needs for Sunday service and other church-wide programs and eventsWork with the finance ministry and children's education ministry team to create, keep, and steward a budget for the ministryUpkeep and organize the children's education ministry supplies, curriculum, resources, books, and designated children's ministry spacesWork with parents to help them with parenting support and resourcesPosition Qualifications:Must be able to consent to the membership promises of Living Faith Community ChurchMust be able to articulate the Gospel and be growing in the understanding of itMust have passion for children's ministryMust be able to submit to the Session of Living Faith Community ChurchMust be able to work well with CEM teachersMust be able to counsel parents, children, and teachersMust be a highly proficient manager and skilled organizationallyMust have child education background and/or experienceMust have a theological understanding of Christian educationMust have a vision for the discipling of our covenant childrenSeminary education or equivalent is a big plusApplication DeadlineJob Type:Part Time
