The North Carolina Rural Water Association (NCRWA) currently has an opening for the position of Circuit Rider to provide on-site technical assistance to rural and small public and private water systems in the State of North Carolina.
Desired Qualifications: Minimum of a high school diploma required. BS in Environmental Sciences or related field preferred.Minimum of five (5) years of proven technical experience in water treatment and/or distribution.Possession of water treatment and/or distribution system operator certifications preferred.Well-rounded knowledge of public water system needs and methodologies to meet those needs.Knowledge of water system development, management, accounting, public finance principles, and state/federal regulatory requirements is also desired.Excellent computer skills including use of internet, email and Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc).Ability to develop and deliver industry related presentations in the classroom setting and to the public.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Possession of a valid State of North Carolina Driver's License and reliable transportation (required).Ability and willingness to travel extensively within state and be away from home overnight.Ability to work alone and as part of a diverse team.An equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.This position will focus primarily on providing on-site technical assistance but will also require a reasonable amount of public presentations, training seminar coordination and facilitation, and preparation of written materials and reports.
