Position Overview
Kiewit Infrastructure Engineering (KIE) has an opening for a dynamic experienced Civil Designer in our growing Digital Delivery and Civil Production group.
You will be part of our rapidly growing Infrastructure Design Department, which includes roadway, drainage, utilities, structural, geotechnical, rail, and is a multi-faceted and leading-edge division of Kiewit with best-in-class technical expertise focused on the design-build delivery of infrastructure projects throughout the country.

Location
This position is based out of our Lone Tree, CO office.
Responsibilities
The candidate will be part of a design team responsible for completing engineering assignments in support of heavy civil construction for Kiewit Construction Companies' business including roadway, drainage, utility design, preparation of design plans, and technical reports.
Key responsibilities include the following:
In office work primarily Work with engineering teams in developing preliminary and final design plans and details for roadway, drainage, and utility projects Participate in design reviews to evaluate design concepts and make recommendations Use MicroStation, AutoCAD, ArcGIS, OpenRoads Designer, Civil3D, and other civil engineering design software Prepares progress reports and provides task updates during team meetings Verbal and written communication skills including the ability to write technical memos and papers, and present technical topics Ability to multitask on various tasks given a set list of assignments and priorities Produce documents with Microsoft Office products (Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint) Follow various DOT Standards and work with companies' CAD Standards when applicable Assist Production CAD Manger in implementation of project standards and presentations Participate and assist with the development of team software training materials
Qualifications
Associates degree in computer-aided design, 3D modeling, drafting, survey or similar program experience 5+ years' experience in CAD design and plan set production for roadway, drainage, and utility projects Proficient in AutoCAD and/or MicroStation (2D & 3D) Proficient in Microsoft Office products (Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint) Experience with Civil 3D, Bentley InRoads, Bentley OpenRoads Designer, Revit is an advantage General knowledge of engineering principles and materials for civil engineering work Ability to comprehend civil engineering drawings Capable of recognizing discrepancies with strong attention to detail Critical thinking skills necessary with the ability to plan ahead and conceptualize The ability to clearly communicate and collaborate with team members
Other Requirements:
Regular, reliable attendance Work productively and meet deadlines timely Communicate and interact effectively and professionally with supervisors, employees, and others individually or in a team environment Perform work safely and effectively.
Understand and follow oral and written instructions, including warning signs, equipment use, and other policies. Work during normal operating hours to organize and complete work within given deadlines.
Work overtime and weekends as required.
Base Compensation: $70,000/yr - $88,000/yr
(Actual compensation is subject to variation due to such factors as education, experience, skillset, and/or location)
