Job SummaryUnder the direction of the Technical Services Supervisor and Technical Service Technicians, the incumbent assists with software installations, hard drive configurations, and hardware repairs. The incumbent learns to troubleshoot Microsoft software issues with staff, faculty, and students.Key ResponsibilitiesLearns to provide support for the college faculty and staff. Assists ITC Technician with questions and request of faculty and staff.Assists Technical Services with set up and testing in CLA instructional Labs. Assists installing and configuring lab computers.Learns to records and updates service requests in appropriate ticket and asset tracking systems.Assists installing and configuring lab computers.Knowledge Skills and AbilitiesAbility to learn consultative skills to assess user needs and determine the appropriate application of technology or support. Ability to work with individuals of various ethnicities, cultural backgrounds, and technical expertise and provide a superior level of customer service. Working knowledge of Windows and Apple computer systems and associated operating systems and applications for both workstation and server platforms. Ability to learn to install, configure, and troubleshoot computer hardware, workstations, servers, associated operating systems, peripherals, networks, and applications.Ability to communicate with an ethnically and culturally diverse campus community.
