Position Summary:
As a Part-Time Claims Assistant, you will work closely with Operational managers/supervisors and Regional Safety Managers to obtain sufficient information regarding incident claims and report claims to Third Party Administrator (TPA).
\n Job Responsibilities: Report all Worker Compensation, Auto and General Liability claims to TPAProvide initial incident information to open a new claimWork with managers/supervisors and Regional Safety Managers to obtain sufficient information for first report of injury noticesSet up new files in required software systems (Teams and Sharepoint)Ensure all Internal Accident Reports are received within 24 hours with supporting documentationEnsure all drug tests and return to work notes are properly documented and filedWork directly with UES' insurance broker (Greyling) for all workers compensation claimsMonitor fleet management company database (Holman) for completed repairsDocument all at fault accidents and repair amounts in designated spreadsheetRetrieve documents from fleet management database for subrogation demandsResponsible for Daily Incident ReportAssist with preparation of subrogation demandsComplete follow-up calls to insurance companies for outstanding subrogation demandsScan, file and save paperwork and other project documents to server and hard foldersAnswer the phone, speak with team members and collect accurate information from client inquiries and share with appropriate team members Maintain excellent communication both verbally and electronically with supporting staffOther tasks as assigned Qualifications & Skills:High School DiplomaPreferred: Minimum of 1 year in an administrative and/or customer service position in an office settingProficient knowledge and use of Excel and other Microsoft Suite programsAbility to follow directions and carry out instructions in both verbal and written formAbility to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusionsAbility to write reports and business correspondence Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, employees, clients and customers in a professional mannerMust be able to use technology efficiently including computers, computer software and phonesMust be a proactive, problem solver and have the ability to think through and solve problems that may ariseStrong interpersonal and communication skillsPlanning/organizing—the individual prioritizes and plans work activities, uses time efficiently and develops realistic action plans with a strong attention to detail and ability to multi-taskAdaptability—the individual adapts to changes in the work environment, manages competing demands and is able to deal with frequent change, delays or unexpected events Working Conditions & Physical Requirements:Days and hours for this position are typically Monday-Friday, during the day, approximately 30 hours per weekThe work setting is in an office atmosphere There is exposure to moderate levels of noise that could include a business office with computers and printers with light traffic throughoutAbility to use your senses to see (including close, distant and peripheral vision, depth vision and ability to focus), smell, hear and touch (use your hands to reach, climb or balance, crouch, stoop, crawl, kneel and sit)While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, walk, transport, and focus vision on the computerThis employee may occasionally lift and/or move up to 20lbs.Must successfully pass pre-employment screenings to include background and reference checksUES is a drug-free workplace.
