Position Summary
In support of the college, the Class A CDL Truck Driving Coordinator will supervise, direct,
evaluate, and facilitate the identification, development, delivery, and documentation of the commercial driver's license training program.
Responsibilities may include delivery of classroom instruction, evaluation of student performance to meet state standards, records maintenance, submission of required reports, and maintenance of necessary equipment and supplies.
Some evening/weekend work may be required.
Responsibilities
1.
Provide daily supervision to instructors to ensure critical instructional delivery of material essential to the obtainment of commercial driver's license.
2.
Recruit students for entry in the CDL Truck Driver Training Program.
3.
Provide supervision for lecture-based, field training and highway interactive training designed to prepare students for CDL (NC Class A) test.
4.
Responsible for implementing safety and compliance measures according to Federal Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) and Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations and procedures.
5.
Develop adjunct instructor and student schedules.
6.
Maintain accurate ledger of supplies and equipment.
7.
Collaborate with employers to develop support and sponsorships for student entry into the program.
8.
Oversee the preparation of objectives, assignments, grading, attendance, preparation of instructional materials and aids.
9.
Instruct and evaluate students based on course objectives.
10.
Maintain student records.
11.
Review and evaluate instructional results to improve program and meet required performance measures.
12.
Review and evaluate instructional results to improve instruction.
13.
Keep current on subject matter and teaching methodologies.
14.
Engage in a program of professional development.
15.
Complete and submit state reports and documentation where needed.
16.
Requisition supplies and equipment based on program needs.
17.
Deliver and place equipment for instruction where needed.
18.
Maintain student training records.
19.
Acquire computer/technology competencies as appropriate to position.
20.
Perform other professional or job-related duties as assigned.
21.
Serve on designated college committees.

Minimum Qualifications
High School Diploma or equivalency from an accredited institution.
Current CDL Class-A.
Clean
Motor Vehicle Report for past 5 years.
Some experience as a CDL Training Instructor and supervisory experience.
Preferred Qualifications
Associate degree from an accredited college or institution.
Considerable teaching experience.
Bilingual.
Career Readiness Experience.
Qualified 3rd Party Examiner.
