WHO WE ARE:
The Texas Workforce Commission (TWC) is seeking to fill a Clerk III position in the Revenue and Trust Management Department which is located at 101 E. 15th Street, Austin, TX.
This position does not offer teleworking options.

You must be a Texas resident to work for the Texas Workforce Commission or willing to relocate to Texas.


WHO YOU ARE:
The ideal candidate will share our department's vision of helping the agency management achieve the efficient use of financial resources and promote highly effective financial management controls.


WHAT YOU WILL DO:
The Clerk III performs highly-complex (senior-level) clerical work.
Work involves coordinating clerical activities such as compiling and tabulating data, checking documents for accuracy, handling and transporting documents and/or stock and inventory, and maintaining files.
Works under limited supervision, with moderate latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment.


YOU WILL BE TRUSTED TO:
- Open, sort, and distribute incoming mail.

- Sort and analyzes check and related supporting documentation.

- Review and reconcile discrepancies in incoming documentation.

- Prepare documents for data entry and inputs data in financial systems.

- Prepare documents and batches for scanner operations and delivers batches for processing.

- Monitor returned checks and communicates with appropriate program areas for disposition.

- Prepare and verifies accurate remittance information through research.

- Perform other duties as assigned.


YOU ARE A GREAT FIT WITH:
-Skills in using business software (spreadsheets, word processing packages, and databases).

-Experience with or knowledge of unemployment tax documents.

-Experience in clerical work sorting and distributing large volumes of mail.


YOU QUALIFY WITH:
-Graduation from an accredited high school or successful completion of GED certification, plus one year of full-time experience in clerical work.

-One semester (15 semester hours) of accredited college work may be substituted for each six months of required experience.

-Completion of 300 clock hours of course work in the clerical field from a licensed vocational, technical, or business school may substitute for the six months of required experience.
