Organization Summary:  2024 celebrates 105 years of Compass helping Upstate Citizens, founded as a girls home on Main Street, our leadership was at the forefront of many systems or nonprofits we now know.  Today, our core services are divided into three categories: mental health counseling, family violence intervention, and representative payee services to those with disabilities and unable to manage their financial benefits from Social Security or the Veterans Administration.
We provide individual child, adult and family trauma informed affirming therapy and accept insurance and/or EAP.  In addition, Compass facilitates weekly groups in the areas of anger management, adolescent second chance, victim to survivorship, batterer intervention and Veteran Resiliency.  Groups are in-person or telehealth, English and Spanish.  Position Summary: Client Relations Counselor will work in our Family Violence Intervention Program and is responsible for managing and maintaining client relationships.  He/She will ensure that our clients and stakeholders receive high-quality services, support, and advocacy throughout their engagement with Compass of Carolina. Good communication skills, managing calls, facilitating intake and enrollment from both clients and referral sources.  Must be able to assist with psychoeducation group facilitation as needed.     Spanish Speaking preferred.  
Primary duties: Build relationships with clients: The Counselor builds relationships with clients by establishing trust, providing emotional support, and maintaining regular contact through phone calls, text, emails, and in-person meetings. Conduct enrollment: To ensure that the proper intake and enrollment forms are completed, and the individual is enrolled in the proper group or referred to individual therapy, as appropriate.   Creates group rosters. Provide direct support (administrative and logistical) to the Group Facilitators Maintain client records: The Counselor maintains accurate and up-to-date client records, including case notes, progress reports, and service plans. Collaborate with other service providers: The Counselor collaborates with other service providers, including law enforcement, healthcare providers, social service agencies, and community partners to ensure clients receive comprehensive services and support.  Attending domestic violence court and community resource fairs. Manages Data: To ensure that all necessary information is documented within the enrollment and client portal. Able to pull monthly reports for department team, board, and funders. Attend meetings and training: The Counselor attends meetings and training to stay informed of best practices, program updates, and other relevant information. Participate in program development: The Counselor participates in program and curriculum development, including program evaluation, policy development, and strategic planning. Job Requirements:
Bachelors degree in social work, counseling, human services, or other related degree Family Violence background Bilingual (Spanish) preferred. Office 365 proficiency Capabilities: Use professional language and tone when communicating with clients and colleagues. Must be able to think and apply information in a a moderately stressful environment. Must be able to think rationally, maintain composure and apply logic during high-stress situations. Must work as part of team and work in a changing environment. Must be able to drive to and participate in offsite events.  Able to learn and work comfortably in company software programs. Minimum Education:  Bachelors degree in human services or related field required.
