Responsibilities:
Position Summary: The incumbent acts as both a functional and technical leader in the development, upgrade, enhancement, and support of Business Information systems in EPIC.
Independently maintains and manages large modules of an enterprise clinical information system in relation to Hospital Billing modules.
Facilitates decisions and work efforts around billing system applications, upgrades as needed and/or requested by all applicable users and patient care practices.
Participates in the analysis and design of data communication links between systems.

Required Qualifications: Working knowledge of inpatient and/or ambulatory clinic workflowsUnderstanding of Work Flow Engine Rule and Order TransmittalUnderstanding of Epic User SecurityMust possess the skill, knowledge and ability essential to the successful performance of assigned dutiesMust have working knowledge of client/server systems, relational database structures and reporting toolsMust demonstrate customer service skills appropriate to the jobMust be willing to participate in 24 hour on-call rotations as a system duty officerExperienced in building Revenue GuardianExperience working with Epic EMR and its various modulesExperience using/implementing/supporting an EMR in a hospital and/or ambulatory settingExperience using / implementing / supporting the Epic EMR system CORE financial applications (Hospital Billing, Charge Router, Claims and Data Courier)Excellent written and verbal communication skills in EnglishCurrent certification in Epic Hospital BillingBachelor's degree in a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experienceAbility to work flexible hours, including nights and weekendsAbility to self initiate and effectively problem solve issuesAbility to maintain a work pace appropriate to the workloadAbility to function as a project leader and project memberAbility to establish and maintain effective working relationships across the Health SystemAbility to apply logical troubleshooting and analysis techniques for the purpose of problem resolution2-4 years Epic build experience in Hospital BillingPreferred Qualifications: Project Coordination / management experienceMust possess a working knowledge of HL7 and other interface/integration strategiesKnowledge of University and medical center organizations, policies, procedures and formsExperience with Epic Clarity and Caboodle data modelsEpic Certification in Charge Router Conditions of Employment: The University of California, Irvine (UCI) seeks to provide a safe and healthy environment for the entire UCI community.
