Description The Clinical Director for Perinatal Behavioral Health will provide clinical leadership for the DC Mother-Baby Wellness program. The Director will have primary responsibility for overall service and clinical operations of DC Mother-Baby Wellness Program. He/she will be responsible for the care of patients in the Clark Parent-Child Network (Prenatal-Neonatal Pillar), as well as research, educational and advocacy initiatives as determined by the Director and Chief, Developing Brain Institute. The Clinical Director will play a pivotal role for pregnant and post-partum women and infant (mother-baby dyad) behavioral health education, community engagement and advocacy initiatives as determined by the Division and/or Center leadership. The reporting structure will be matrixed with direct reporting to the Director and Chief, Developing Brain Institute. Patient care activities will be overseen in conjunction with the Chief, Division of Prenatal and Transitional Pediatrics within the Hospital Based Specialties Center and the Medical Staff Office credentialling and recredentialling process will be managed by the Chief of the Division of Psychology and Behavioral Health.

Doctorate in Psychology (PsyD) PhD in Developmental or Clinical Psychology or PsyD (Required) And
Minimum Work Experience
0 years Successful completion of postdoctoral fellowship in clinical psychology. (Required) And
3 years (Required)
Required Skills/Knowledge
Knowledge of current principles, methods and procedures for the delivery of medical diagnostic evaluation that supports treatment in the area of expertise.
Ability to function independently in evaluating patient laboratory and diagnostic problems and developing a plan for patient care, usually as a consultant to the clinical providers.
Ability to incorporate ethical concepts into patient care and discuss these with the patient, family, and other members of the health care team as applicable.
Ability to supervise, advice, and train clinical professionals and/or students in area of expertise.
Ability to maintain quality, safety, and/or infection control standards.
Demonstrates a personal commitment to Continuing Medical Education and remains current on the developments and progress in his/her subspecialty.
Demonstrates knowledge of and complies with legal and ethical standards for the delivery of medical care.
Knowledge of regulatory, legal and ethical standards for the delivery of laboratory and pathology services.
Certain job assignments may require physician.
Required Licenses and Certifications
Fully licensed and credentialed psychologist on the medical staff of Children's National Medical Center (Required)

Evaluate patient care according to adopted protocol and Quality Assurance program criteria. Participate in evaluation of peers and support staff; acknowledge and report medical and/or other errors as well as participate in efforts to prevent them.Administrative Accountabilities Plan and develop evidence-based care behavioral programs for expectant and new mothers, and the mother-baby dyad. Monitor performance dashboard and implement change based on current data.Effectively direct clinical operations and maintain good communications in consultation with the Chief and other leadership.Meet regularly with staff and provide leadership needed to achieve medical care goals.Keep medical and psychology staff informed with changes in policies and procedures.Prepare and maintain standard operating procedures for the DC perinatal (Mother-Baby) behavioral wellness program in accordance with regulatory bodies.Display empathy, sensitivity, and emotional control when interacting with patients or when coaching direct reports.Attend and present at Institute, Divisional, Center-wide and/or organizational meetings.Perform other tasks as assigned by the Director and Chief, Developing Brain Institute.Business and Financial Accountabilities Participate in financial planning and budget preparation for the program.In collaboration with the Chief and other leadership, review budget performance reports, analyze cause of variances, and develop and implement action plans to achieve financial goals.Assist the Chief and Center leadership in providing analytical data and reports necessary for the operation and administration of the integrated behavioral health program.
