Clinical Instructor/ Clinical Assistant Professor/Clinical Associate Professor, Hospital Medicine Program AY 2024-25, General Internal Medicine School / Campus / College: School of Medicine Organization: Medicine, General Internal Medicine Title: Clinical Instructor/ Clinical Assistant Professor/Clinical Associate Professor, Hospital Medicine Program AY 2024-25, General Internal Medicine Position General Internal Medicine Hospitalist and Consultative Medicine Open Positions AY 2024-25 The 28 open positions are full-time (0.5-1.0 FTE) or part-time (0-0.49 FTE) 12-month (July 1-June 30 service period) annual appointments, and will be at the Clinical Instructor, Clinical Assistant Professor, or Clinical Associate Professor level. Anticipated start date will be July 1, 2024. Select positions available immediately. Accepting online applications starting week of July 24, 2023. The Hospital Medicine Program, part of the Division of General Internal Medicine (GIM) and the Department of Medicine, is currently accepting online applications. GIM will review candidate applications for positions on the Hospital Medicine Service and Medicine Consult Service. Candidates may be considered at individual or multiple sections of GIM--Harborview Medical Center, University of Washington Medical Center (Montlake and Northwest Campuses), and VA Puget Sound Health Care System. University of Washington faculty engage in teaching, research, and service. These positions will hold annual appointments that align with a 12-month service period (July 1-June 30) and may be reappointed to subsequent annual terms. Faculty with 12-month service periods are paid for 11 months of service over a 12-month period (July-June), meaning the equivalent of one month is available for paid time off. For more information about the GIM Hospital Medicine Program, please visit: . Harborview Medical Center (HMC) The Hospital Medicine Program at HMC offers daytime and/or night-time positions. Successful applicants will demonstrate a commitment to providing high value care to the patients of HMC in the spirit of service to our community's most vulnerable populations with a special dedication to improving health systems, medical education and scholarship. Daytime hospitalists will have the opportunity to work on a variety of clinical services ranging from primary medicine services, consultative medicine and perioperative medicine services, with opportunities to interact with students and residents from a variety of departments. Nighttime hospitalists will work with a team of residents and students to provide nighttime coverage for the hospitalist teams and ensure critical attending coverage during the evening. These services offer daytime and/or nighttime positions. Duties on the Medicine Consult Service include patient care, perioperative medical consultation and teaching in the inpatient and outpatient settings. Hospitalists at UWMC-Northwest provide inpatient care for a broad scope of patients in consulting and attending roles. While UWMC-Northwest campus is primarily focused on the clinical care of patients, it does offer teaching opportunities as well. Compensation Compensation for UW Hospitalists is broken into multiple components as described below. Total guaranteed annual compensation ranges from $235,008 - $315,000, depending upon rank and day/night split. Salary For HMC, UWMC-Montlake, UWMC-Northwest: The base salary range for this position will be: $14,334 - $20,000 per month ($172,008 - $240,000 annually), commensurate with experience and qualifications, or as mandated by a U.S. Department of Labor prevailing wage determination. This range is inclusive of base salary provided through the UW Physicians (UWP) practice plan, in addition to base salary provided by the University. Please note that only compensation provided by the University is included in University benefit determinations and calculations. Compensation provided by UW Physicians (UWP) practice plan may provide eligibility for separate benefits offered by that organization. For VAPSHCS: This position is paid directly by the VA Puget Sound Health Care System and receives no UW compensation. Please refer to VAPSHCS for information about compensation for this position. Other Compensation Other compensation associated with this position will include a pay supplement (TPS) of $4,584 -$7,084 per month ($55,008 - $85,008 annually) for work on the hospital medicine service. Other compensation associated with this position may include incentive through the UW Physicians (UWP) practice plan. Benefits UW Physicians Practice Plan: For practitioners holding an appointment in the UW Physicians (UWP) practice plan, you will be entitled to additional benefits which includes a generous employer-paid retirement benefit plan. We strongly encourage you to review this link for more details: Qualifications Applicants must have an MD degree (or foreign equivalent) and board certification* in Internal Medicine (or foreign equivalent). *Note: Board certification in Internal Medicine must be completed within two years after residency. In order to be eligible for University sponsorship for an H-1B visa, graduates of foreign (non-U.S.) medical schools must show successful completion of all three steps of the U.S. Medical Licensing Exam (USMLE) or equivalent as determined by the Secretary of Health and Human Services. University sponsorship is not possible for a J-1 visa or EB visas for permanent residence.
