Job DescriptionThe Allied Health School (AHS) CLS Educator is responsible for the development and implementation of curriculum designed to prepare students for successful careers in various allied health fields. This role involves the development of educational programs that accounts for diverse learning styles aligned with student demographics and learning methods, revising the curriculum to align with current industry standards ensures course curriculum aligns with accreditation standards and ensures academic excellence and professional readiness in the dynamic healthcare landscape. The AHS CLS Educator is responsible for ensuring the delivery and teaching of the material as well as maintaining administrative components of education system including grading, reviewing polices & creating testing standards.Primary Duties and Responsibilities:Formulates and revises orientation manuals, course materials, lectures, and tests to ensure curriculum incorporates evidence based practices and meets accreditation and standards as well as medical center expectations. Implements and reviews program policies and procedures in partnership with the AHS Program Director.Independently develops and teaches introductory and core courses in their area of specialization. Responsible for developing courses for online instruction and multiple technologies while supporting a diverse population of learning needs. Develops learning modules, hands on activities, assessments and multimedia content that address various learning styles (visual, auditory, kinesthetic, etc.). Continually assess the effectiveness of instructional methods and adjusts as needed.Advises and teaches students, leads lab skill demonstrations, practice and testing of students. Provides guidance and support to students to ensure they meet learning objectives and are prepared for professional certification.Responsible for the planning and oversight of student clinical rotations across CSMC affiliate locations and periodically evaluates the quality, contribution and appropriateness of all clinical preceptors participating in clinical instruction. Directs and advises students on developing research and advancing knowledge in their field of specialty through in-person teaching and training. Maintains ongoing communication with medical center staff as to clinical schedules and status of student experience.Serves on educational committees and participates in the broader development of the Allied Health School and disciplinary committees.Responsible for the organization, administration, review & maintenance of performance and educational records on all students within the AHS clinical program.In collaboration with the AHS Program Director may assists with recruiting new students, screening applications, and interviewing potential students for the training program.Performs other education or technical related duties as assigned by the AHS Pharm Tech Program Director or the clinical or technical department leadership team.Department-Specific Responsibilities:Monitors and statistically evaluates quality control data and recommends or initiates appropriate corrective action.Serves as Technologist-in-Charge including coordinating work flow and bench assignments, establishing priorities in testing and responding to problem inquiries.Performs phlebotomy procedures including venipuncture and capillary puncture; uses proper technique in accordance with SOPs.Follows Current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP).QualificationsRequirements:A 4-year degree in Biological Science, Chemistry, Medical Technology, or related science, or equivalent experience.3 years of Relevant clinical experience with at least 1 year in the area of specialty.Upon Hire:A valid California Clinical Laboratory Scientist license or limited license appropriate for the area of responsibility.ASCP Board of Registry certification as a Medical Technologist, or certification in appropriate specialty.Certified by American Medical Technologist as an Allied Health Instructor (AHI).#Jobs-IndeedReq ID : 5544Working Title : Clinical Laboratory Scientist Educator, Allied Health SchoolDepartment : Graduate Research EducationBusiness Entity : Cedars-Sinai Medical CenterJob Category : Academic / ResearchJob Specialty : Academic/Research ServicesOvertime Status : EXEMPTPrimary Shift : DayShift Duration : 8 hourBase Pay : $54.02 - $86.43
