Job Description - Clinical Laboratory Technologist - Microbiology (2402831) POSITION SUMMARY: Perform testing in Microbiology and Immunology. Additionally, may be trained in other areas of the laboratory including (but not limited to) Blood Bank, Chemistry, Coagulation, Hematology, and Urinalysis.
As a Laboratory Technologist, you will perform clinical laboratory procedures, examinations, and other tests pursuant to established protocols including maintaining equipment and records and performing quality assurance activities related to examination performance requiring the exercise of independent judgment and responsibility.
SPECIAL SKILLS OR EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS: BS in Clinical Laboratory Science, Medical Technology or related Science.Five (5) years of Microbiology experience to include bacterial identification and sensitivity testing.NYSED Clinical Laboratory Technologist License (or permit) required.Special Notes: Resume/CV should be included with the online application.Stony Brook Medicine is a smoke-free environment.
