Position: Clinical Manager

Reporting to: NSAH Program Director

Compensation: $80,000-85,000

RAINN's Victim Services (VS) department provides anonymous telephone and online chat services to survivors of sexual assault and their loved ones.
Within the VS department, RAINN's clinical team is responsible for elevating the service quality across all helplines.


The clinical manager is responsible for driving service excellence among RAINN's hotline staff (paid and volunteer) and cultivating a culture of wellness within the hotlines.
In this role, the manager will develop strategies to prevent and respond to staff burnout and equip hotline management with the skills they require to support in-person and remote staff in a high-pressure crisis environment.
The clinical manager will base their efforts on a commitment to RAINN's four crisis-intervention values: trauma-informed, survivor-centered, non-judgemental, and strengths-based.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Under the direction of the NSAH Program Director, the clinical manager will:

Directly supervise a team of licensed training supervisors and a clinical operations manager.
Maintain ongoing communication with clinical team supervisors and manage day-to-day operations of this team.
Oversee content reviews and resource vetting.
Strengthen Service Delivery: Create and modify hotline standard responses to ensure they meet the standards of RAINN's crisis intervention values.
Work with the NSAH program director to meet grant deliverables and improve service delivery.
Support the work of the DoD Safe Helpline, the service that RAINN operates for the Department of Defense.
Identify, direct, and perform other service improvement projects in the VS department as needed.
Support other clinical needs of RAINN, internally and externally.
Carry out any additional tasks and responsibilities as assigned.
Maintain active independent clinical licensure per board requirements and ensure staff remain in compliance with all legal and ethical requirements.
Lead Staff Wellness: Lead efforts to design, implement, monitor, assess, and expand new health and safety policies and practices to further staff wellness across the VS department.
Partner with the Chief of Victim Services and NSAH Program Director to establish, implement, and manage the department's trauma-informed supervision practice.
Support RAINN's overall mission by providing clinical insight, oversight, and technical assistance to NSAH operations, across theorganization, and externally, as needed.
Manage a comprehensive strategy to prevent and respond to vicarious trauma experienced by hotline staff.
Relatedly, facilitate professional development opportunities to keep VSstaff informed of current wellness research and critical developments in the field.
Manage the clinical debrief practice for VS hotline staff and supervisors.
Position Specifications/Requirements:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential function satisfactorily.The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required:

Required Qualifications: 5+ years experience working with victims of abuse (children, adults, or families), OR as a practitioner in the field of mental health or social work.
Demonstrated experience developing and implementing health and safety programming using knowledge of health and safety standards and wellness principles.
Prior work experience in crisis intervention.
Trauma-informed understanding is a must.
Problem-solver with a demonstrated ability to make considered decisions and to communicate them effectively.
Demonstrated research skills with the ability to translate best practices into plain language.
Ability to solve problems and work professionally in a wide range of situations.
Ability to exercise good judgment when faced with complex decisions.
Comfortable discussing issues surrounding sexual violence.
Commitment to RAINN's mission and goals.
Must successfully complete and pass a criminalbackground check administered by RAINN.
Education: Master's degree in health and wellness, social work, psychology, or a related field, and at least five years of work experience in that field.
Extensive expertise on sexual violence issues, including knowledge of the dynamics of sexual violence, its impact on survivors, prevention strategies, legal and policy frameworks, and best practices in supporting survivors.
This expertise should encompass both direct service experience and a deep understanding of the broader social, cultural, and systemic factors that contribute to sexual violence.
Preferred Qualifications: Bilingual in Spanish(Comprehension,writing, reading and translating).
Master's degree in social work or psychology.
Advanced knowledge or certification in wellness (such as the Certified Wellness Practitioner (CWP) credential from the National Wellness Institute) is preferred but not required.
This credential highlights expertise in promoting wellness and emotional well-being, which can be valuable in supporting trauma survivors.

A current Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor, Licensed Clinical Social Worker.
Veterans will be given priority.
Experience in crisis hotline/intervention and treatment of victims of sexual violence.

RAINN headquarters are based in Washington, DC.
This position may be based regionally for someone whose residence is within the continental USA.
Although this may be a remote role, it may require some periodic business travel to our DC offices for onsite meetings and training sessions.
