As the Clinical Pharmacist II your duties will include: Providing pharmaceutical care according to standards established by Scripps Health Pharmacy, to assigned group of patients.
Reviewing and evaluates individual drug orders for appropriateness, safety, and cost.
Documenting the care provided to patients.
Supervising the drug distribution operation: responsible for assuring safe and effective alternatives as appropriate.
Routinely communicating with physicians, nurses and patients regarding drug therapy.
Contributing to the accomplishment of initiatives to improve the cost-effectiveness of drug therapy.
Demonstrating ability to provide age-specific patient care as established for area and job title.
Working variable shifts, including evenings and weekends as staffing needs require.
Demonstrating ability to perform competencies and perform activities as outlined in Pharmacist Authorities policy.
Primarily clinical based practice demonstrates ability to perform competencies and prescriptive authorities as approved by the medical staff.
Participating in direct patient care with patient care teams.
Performing all clinical pharmacy activities and oversees clinical activities of clinical pharmacists in training.
Precepting students and/or residents.

Qualifications Required Education/Experience/Specialized Skills: BS Pharmacy or Pharm.D.
Degree PGY1 residency or 3 years' experience in relevant area of clinical pharmacy practice.
Required Certification/Registration: California Pharmacist License AHA BLS for the health care provider and ACLS certifications required prior to being trained to respond to codes.
Board of Pharmacy Specialties (BPS) or other nationally recognized certification required within 2 years' of hire.
Preferred Education/Experience/Specialized Skills/Certification: Experience in a health system pharmacy enterprise Teaching certificate and/or experience precepting students and/or residents.
