Are you looking for a Clinical Pharmacist Specialist opportunity focused in Infectious Diseases/Antimicrobial Stewardship (ID/ASP)? Our world-renowned medical team at Barnes-Jewish Hospital is seeking a Infectious Diseases/Antimicrobial Stewardship specialist to support our outpatient parenteral antimicrobial therapy (OPAT) program and inpatient ID/ASP services!
If you have previous infectious diseases/antimicrobial stewardship experience in a hospital, clinic, or academic setting this may be the opportunity for you! PGY2 residency preferred. The pharmacy at Barnes-Jewish uses an integrated practice model with more unit-based positions.
Here, department staff has access to a number of drug information resources, including many online references accessible from department computers.
An on-site drug information center provides support for more in-depth questions.

Role Purpose Evaluates and recommends appropriate drug therapy to achieve optimal cost-effective patient outcomes, by working directly with physicians, other health professionals, and patients.
Participates in the development, provision and evaluation of comprehensive pharmaceutical care and quality assurance programs through scholarly activities.
Serves as a resource to the pharmacy staff and other hospital departments.

Responsibilities Assess the overall status of the patient's health condition and evaluates medication profile for optimal patient outcomes.
Monitors therapy and goals of care.
Documents all activities and communication as appropriate.Participates in professional development and research activities.Contributes to performance improvement, clinical effectiveness, drug use evaluation, and HSO/BJC committee activities.Participates in the education and training of pharmacy staff, residents and students, and serves as a role model and mentor.Participates in the identification and implementation of targeted drug cost reduction programs.
