SAIC is seeking a proven Senior Cloud Architect to join the Enterprise Cloud Management Agency (ECMA) Cloud Enterprise Technology Services (CETS) program and the opportunity to evaluate and potentially re-invent how the Army delivers IT services and make use of data and analytics to meet mission requirements.
The CETS program provides Information Technology services and technical subject matter expertise (SME) for the Army ECMA to support overall strategy and migration to the cARMY environment up to Department of Defense (DoD) Impact Level (IL) 6.
This position is your opportunity to utilize your skills and background as a Senior Cloud Architect and deliver support to the warfighting mission with cutting edge cloud application migration and business process refinement for the US Army.
This position is contingent upon contract award which is expected February 2025. This position is a hybrid position; however, candidate is required to live within 250 miles of customer located at Fort Belvoir, VA.Relocation assistance MAY be provided.
Designs, plans, and integrates cloud computing and virtualization systems.
Provides specific, detailed information for hardware and software selection, cloud service provider selection, implementation techniques, application data migration techniques and tools for the most efficient solution to meet business needs, including present and future capacity requirements.
Develops and conducts testing of cloud and virtualization systems.
Maintains technical expertise relevant industry standards and in cloud computing and virtualization technologies such as cloud service provider architecture, design, and configuration; cloud deployment models including public, community, private, and hybrid; cloud service delivery models including infrastructure-, platform-, and software-as-a-service; automation; hypervisors; containers; virtual compute, storage, and networks; virtual infrastructure management; self-provisioning; and scaling.
Evaluates and reports on new cloud and virtualization technologies to enhance capabilities of cloud-based and virtualized services.
May also provide systems engineering activities such as: Concept of Operations Formulation, Requirements Definition, Analysis and Engineering, System Architecting, System Analysis and Design, Interface and Data Architectures, Validation and Verification, System Integration, System Op.
Performance Analysis,Lifecycle Cost Analysis Estimation, Decision Analysis and Physical Configuration Analysis (PCA).
Ensures the logical and systematic conversion of product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints.
Performs functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications.

Qualifications EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: BS degree in Computer Science, IT, Engineering, Physics or Mathematics Fifteen years of combined computer/network architecture experience and five years within the past eight years of experience in Cloud Architecture is acceptable in lieu of degree 10 years technical and/or management experience on US Army of DoD programs and projects that provided expert software O&M of Army enterprise systems 5 years technical and/or management experience supported industry and/or Government Sector cloud initiatives at an enterprise level 1 year, within the past 3 years of experience defining organizational project cloud migration objectives and requirements that map to enterprise cloud vision and/or initiatives, establishing system architecture, ensuring IA Compliance, directing, coordinating, and completing project efforts, interfacing with Government personnel, and providing progress reports 3 years, within the past 5 years of experience with CSPs (AWS or Azure) in cloud-based disaster recovery (DR) and multi-region / multi-availability zone (AZ) high availability (HA) (AWS and/or Microsoft Azure, and/or if needed for the new CSPs) CLEARANCE REQUIREMENT: Must have a Secret clearance CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENT: Must have a CISSP or CCSP Certification
