Description We are seeking a talented and experienced Senior Cloud Networking Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in cloud networking technologies, with emphasis on IPv6 networking, network design, implementation, and troubleshooting. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and maintain the DOT's IPv6 cloud infrastructure, ensuring optimal performance and security. You will also work with the cloud team in the management and administration of cloud networking components.
Job Role Specific Requirements: Core responsibilities and duties; highlight day-to-day activities:
Develop and execute a comprehensive IPv6 strategy for a multi-cloud environment, including migration plans and IPv6 adoption roadmaps.Implement advanced security measures for IPv6 networks, including firewall policies like Palo Alto, intrusion detection systems, and DDoS management.Collaborate with other IT teams and departments to ensure seamless integration of IPv6 networking solutions.Management and administration of cloud networking components including but not limited to VPCs, subnets, Load Balancers, Security Groups and CloudFront.Provide technical guidance to Cloud team members and Modal partners of implementation of IPv6 networking in cloud environments.Qualifications Required Qualifications, Skills, Experience or Certifications:
At least 7 years of experience with cloud network technologies, with an emphasis on IPv6 networking.Experience with migration from IPv4 to IPv6.Experience with Landing Zone Accelerator.Strong knowledge of IPv6 addressing, routing, and subnetting.Familiarity with NAT64 and DNS64 translation services.Hands-on experience managing dual-stack networks.In-depth understanding of network security principles and practices.Intermediate knowledge of at least one Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) tool such as Terraform, CloudFormation, etc.AWS Advanced Networking Specialty certification OR Azure Networking Engineer certification OR AWS Security certification.Note: Candidate must be a U.S. citizen or green card holder who has resided in the U.S. for at least 3 years and the ability to obtain a public trust.
