We are looking for a compassionate GNA to join our growing team! The right candidate has a can-do attitude, a friendly demeanor, and the ability to provide many levels of support to our clients.ResponsibilitiesMust be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.Must be able to lift, turn, move, position, and transport residents, alone or with assistance.Observe residents' conditions, measuring/recording food/liquid intake and output as well as vital signs, then report changes to professional staff as applicable.Collect specimens such as urine, feces, or sputum.Must be able to explain medical instructions to residents and family members.Work as part of a medical team that examines and provides service to residents.Administer medications and treatments, such as catheterizations, suppositories, irrigations, enemas, massages, and douches, as directed by a physician or nurse.Answer residents' call lights.Provide residents with help walking, exercising, and moving in and out of bed.Must be able to assist residents with baths, showers, personal grooming, feeding, and toiletry.Transport residents to treatment units, using a wheelchair or stretcher.Must be able to assist in the evacuation of residents.Restrain residents if necessary.Prepare, serve, and collect food trays.Clean rooms and change linens as instructed.Deliver messages, documents and specimens.Answer phones and direct visitors as needed.Maintain inventory by storing, preparing, sterilizing, and issuing supplies such as dressing packs and treatment trays.Perform clerical duties such as processing documents and detailing residents' condition.Provide personal hygiene assistance for elderly patients or those recovering from surgeries, injuries or accidents by attending to their basic needs, such as showering, bathing, dressing and eating.QualificationsEnjoy working in a one-on-one setting, eager to improve and continuously learn new skills.Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds with physical capability to perform job-related duties.Valid driver's license and reliable transportation every single day.Validated ability to act in a compassionate and supportive manner.Available to work different shifts, including nights and/or weekends.Prior experience in a healthcare, hospitality, or in-home care environment (minimum of 1 year)Willingness to enforce health and safety standards.Supportive and compassionate.High School Diploma or equivalent/Experience as a CNA, or completion of a CNA ProgramLicensed to work in the state of Virginia.Take pride in providing high quality care.Hoyer Lift Experience (specific to client)We are an equal opportunity employer and prohibit discrimination/harassment without regard to race, color, religion, age, sex, national origin, disability status, genetics, protected veteran status, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, or any other characteristic protected by federal, state or local laws.
