As our CNA, at CHI Mercy Health Valley City, now part of CommonSpirit Health formed between Catholic Health Initiatives (CHI) and Dignity Health, you'll help our patients feel safer and more comfortable by assisting with their basic daily life activities.The Certified Nursing Assistant contributes to positive patient experiences by performing nursing care tasks under the supervision of the Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical nurse, facilitating communication, and providing general clerical and administrative assistance to the unit.
Your success in this role comes from your genuine desire to help patients feel better, whether that means giving them fresh bed linens or checking their vitals.
You're diligent about your tasks, observant of patients' conditions improving or declining, and accept coaching well.
You know we're all continuously trying to become better care providers, and you're eager to learn.

Responsibilities Delivers direct patient care as delegated including but not limited to oral cares, bathing, transferring, repositioning, feeding, and providing direct supervision for patients requiring it.
Communicates and works cooperatively with nursing staff by reporting observations, serving as a liaison between patient and nurse, and updating other staff members through shift report.
Measures and documents accurately and at the time of occurrence vital signs, input and output, weights, procedures, personal care, activities of daily living, specimens as directed, observations, dietary intake, and ambulation.
Assumes routine coordination of clerical activities under the direction of department leadership and nurses on duty, including answering and routing phone calls, stocking supplies, communicating new orders and test results to pertinent staff, and locating charts and forms as requested.
Maintains patient privacy and confidentiality.
Qualifications Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) in the state of North Dakota (ND).
American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS).
High School Diploma or G.E.D.
